Hope so, liked my warden way better than Hawke. I just hated her swarmy voice. It grated.

Emotional nostalgic reasoning.  There is no logical reason to keep playing as the warden his story is done.   There is more to Thedas than just fighting darkspawn.

Wardens hold alot of secrets and are a very interesting group within Dragon Age, so it is no wonder why people want to be one in the story. In the Dragon Age 2 dlc, Hawke helps the Wardens for some tacked on reason of "we need your blood". I for one would rather play as a warden than just work with them, because it turns out your father was a warden and happens to have locked a seal with his blood.

If they could make a protagonist as interesting in DA3, i'm certain nobody would be asking for the Wardens return. Hawke was just a very bland character.

The reason I liked the Warden(s) better than Hawke is because the Warden was my character, where Hawke felt like a pre-defined character(because he was voiced) to me. It is just easier for a player to be invested in a PC they create.

For an appearance, why not? Maybe we should be able to make a new character as noble as The Warden. Because whatever parts Hawke and Warden have played  should kind of stay legendary. I wouldn't mind playing the character, but I feel as if the only reason why I am tempted to go for that is because Hawke was such a bad character in my opinion. I hope they can improve on their mistakes in DA 2 and bring in a character as epic as the Warden. I would rather have them make the new character and game better than both games combined.

The problem with Hawke is that that he/she was too much of a character, rather than something fans could create. It is the player that makes his or her protagnist interesting because they cultivate their character how they like it. Hawke felt too...reigned in...my major beef was a lot of the dialogue, comapre Hawke to the kick ass speeches shepards delivers--can you think of any memorable dialogue from Hawke that was just cool and inspired you?

Heck, even the silent warden's dialogue packs more impact

That was probaby a year or so ago when I said that. Since then Legacy DLC has come out and I think darkspawn may play an important role in DA 3 but with that said there is still alot of political intrigue and upheavel going on in Thedas so I don't know if a Warden would make much sense in DA 3 though I think the Wardens should play an important role.

I'm only going to buy DA3 as first day purchase if I can play my Warden. I've spent so much time with that character that I would be willing to play a "ME3" style game just to keep his story going. If not, then I'll just sit back on the fence for awhile and listen to the fans' reviews before deciding to purchase it or not.

Or at least, a dignified ending. Knowing that the taint eventually would be lethal, my warden fought through scores of Darkspawn to get a semi-happy ending with Leliana.

Then, in DA2, the Templar/Mage war breaks loose, and Orlais is hinted to do a relapse (Morrigan's influencing Selene, perhaps?) to the darker days. Meanwhile, the Seekers runs around looking for both Hawke and the Warden, both having disappered. And here I thought my Warden spent the retirement with Leliana, adventuring for the freedome of it, and Hawke went for the pirate life on the sea. I will be most displeased if all I get in DA3 is some minor references and my new PC stumbling upon the final resting places of both Hawke and the Warden.

I'd love to play as the Warden again. Hawke is.. well, Hawke. The Warden is just more awesome. If anyone is to put a stop to a war that spans entire Thedas, I'd go for my Warden. Alistair is involved. Leliana is involved. Morrigan is most certainly involved. I want my Warden to be involved. What new character would one be?

I would love to play my Warden one more time in the third Installment.I am guessing they spent a lot of money on the Animated movie for the side story for Cassandra in order to put her in DA3 because their is no turning back on the investment.

The Warden's Arch-type or blank slate characters doesn't exist anymore in BioWare games. DAO was the last of it's kind due to the change in BioWare's direction. Bringing the Warden back in DA 3 wouldn't help. The Warden just doesn't compatible with cinematic approach. So expect more semi pre-gen characters like Hawke in DA3 and all future BioWare games. I just hope they really add more character agency and player agency as they promise at PAX. Or at least make the character a Player Created Character and not a NPC who disguise as PC. Otherwise DA 3 will be my last BioWare's games.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind having the Warden back, but it wont happen for many reasons (multiple things can happen to the warden, the warden can be of multiple races and genders, the warden can't speak). Personally I'm just hoping they just make a really good voiced PC, let's make this one the Commander Shepard of Dragon Age.

I want the warden! Hawk was a sissy in comparison. I don't care if he/she has the same voice for every race. To those who say it can't happen because he/she can die at the end of DAO, shepard can die in mass effect 2.

Wasn't it hinted at that we might be seeing the Warden cameo?

Shepard DOES die in the opening of ME2. Can also die at the end, but you may not import that Shep into ME3.

Regardless of how they bring the Warden back I would love to see it happen. Mainly because they destroyed my perfect ending with epilogue in Awakening and the end of DA2...what the hell....I want to know where my Warden went. Hawke *is* a sissy--he/she fled the blight and the Warden conquered it. Need I say more?

I like having a voiced protaganist but then again I liked having a mute character probably because you could play as the Warden in many more ways than Hawke.

I don't like voiced protags. But I guess that doesn't matter, voiced is what Bioware is going for. I'll wait and see. Biut all of my wardens are done. They were after DAO finished. I own no DLC, and Awakening is, imo silly. I will not purchase it, ever.It takes a great game, and turns it on its head. So doe the DLC. They screw with all of my companions. Thank you, but no thank you.

Leave my Wardens alone. No more. No. They are done. Move on.

A dead warden being brought back to life completely trivializes the whole Dark Ritual and removes the "destruction of a soul" consequence. Leave the warden alone. I don't want to see her lovely elf face Zevranized with the new art style nor do I want to hear her voiced as when I play DAO, my warden's voice is my own (people who hate the silent protagonist won't get that I suppose).

Since the DA series is supposed to be about Thedas, I'd just like to see another part, and maybe have the loose ends tied up. In fact, I'd love to have the loose ends of DA3 tied up in DA3 as well.

If they keep the hideous new elf designs, NO WAY do I want my city elf coming back!

EDIT: Or any elven Warden for that matter. It's too painful. They've already ruined Zevran; no one else please!

Good to see this thread continue to live after all this time. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the Warden and if the Warden returns in the next Dragon Age, I will be there day 1. He was by far my favorite character in recent Bioware games, though Shepard does come close. :)

I miss my Warden and would be ecstatic to play him again. That would be ideal, along with playable races IMO. For my part, I believe the Wardens tend to have carte blanche to go most anywhere and become involved in most anything (darkspawn-related or no, as Awakening seems to suggest), and I could see them being a part of whatever came next for Thedas while maintaining consistency of character.

I would love to see the warden again even if it is in a cameo.
