Hello, I am looking for a way to get the music files in the game. I know there was a way to do this in Origins, as there is a lot of music clips that aren't on the soundtrack that I'd like to have for out of game listening. Is there anyway to do this now for DA2?

It appears the music files are in an .erf, I used a program to extract the files from there and there is a bunch of .ogg files, however they won't play in any conventional .ogg players. Bleh.

Also just as side info about Dragon Age 2 music, you can download the whole game soundtrack as MP3 for like $4 on music selling sites such as http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B004P9DRVG/ or others.

One other thing, I have yet found any music in game that was not on the official score released with the SE. Some of the music you here is actually in the middle of tracks on the official score.

There is TONS of music that are in the game that aren't on the soundtrack. Here's an example:

(When Bethany, Carver dies)

A slower, more depressing version of Hawke's Family Theme. There are lots of others, such as the music when Wesley dies. All my attempts of getting the music from the game are unsuccessful, and yes, I own the soundtrack ;)

Still no success -sigh-, if there was a way in DAO to get the raw audio files used in game, there must be a way with DA2!

ww2ogg isn't working or I'm not doing something right. I run the .exe and nothing happens.

I would be interested in this too. There's so much wonderful music in the game that isn't included in the soundtrack (which I legitimately have, so it wouldn't be a crime to have them to listen to, I don't think).

May I ask you which program you used to get the .ogg files? :)

I totally love the tavern music at night and I'm disappointed that it's not included in the SE.

There are a lot of musics that are not in soundtrack from SE. I recently noticed that while using headphones (I didn't know before because background music sound was really small to hear).

has anyone been able to get the ogg files to play? I've used various players and none have been able to read the extract files.

They have to be converted. And yes they do play afterward.

okay.. another question, but do you run ww2ogg against the extacted ogg files from the base erf file?
I just tried running ww2ogg against an extracted ogg file and it seems not have worked.

Open every single extracted .ogg file with ww2ogg (drag&drop), more than one doesn't work. :)

alright, must not be doing something right, because I'm not having any success

I've extracted all the ogg files from wwisestreams_core from ...\\packages\\core\\audio\\sound using gffeditor ~ Extract All

created at batch file with the following
@echo
for %%a in (*.ogg) do ww2ogg "%%a" --full-setup

Place a copy of the ww2ogg executable in the same folder as the extracted file

ran the batch file
and this created [filename].ogg_conv.ogg file that's is only 1K
Tried running both files in foobar2000
the [filename].ogg indicates Unable to open item for playback (Unsupported format or corrupted file):
".....\\music\\DA2\\1029890912.ogg"

and the [filename].ogg_conv.ogg does nothing

also tried the drag & drop method with ww2ogg - still nothing

help?

You only copied the exe? Not all 16 files of the ww2ogg folder?

Hey guys... I managed to download them all and convert them to mp3s following the instructions on this board. Most of them are like only a few seconds long, though. I think the longest files in there are around 15 seconds. Weird!

Thanks GraveDanger
(duh!) I feel so silly now. Posted Image
I got it to work via the drag and drop method. need to figure why the batch method is still not converting.
