Now it's a matter of going throught ogg files to see what they sound like.

1. Download the programs .pyGYFF and ww2ogg.
2. Launch the "editor".exe in the .pyGFF folder
3. When this is open, click on "File -------> Export All". Navigate to your Dragon Age 2 directory. (Dragon Age 2/packages/core/audio/sound and click on the "wwisestreams_core.erf" file.
4. Make a folder on your desktop or wherever, and export the files to the location.
5. In this SAME folder, copy ALL the contents of the ww2ogg folder and put them in that folder as well.
6. Now, right click on an .ogg file, and change what opens it to the ww2ogg.exe found in the same folder.
7. Double click any .ogg file and another converted file will be made instantly in that folder under the .ogg file you initally clicked. (you'll know which one it is). I'm not sure what programs they work in besides FOOBAR, but that's what I'm using and it works fine!
-Thanks to everyone above for figuring this out!

1. In the same folder that Reara indicates - create a *.bat file
2. Inside the batch file, put in the following:
FOR %%a in (*.ogg) do ww2ogg "%%a"
3. Save
4. Then, double-click the batch file, and it should run everything through the ww2ogg.exe program.

In addition to the steps that Reara has outlined, I also created a batch file to help convert all the ogg files all at once
Ugh, that would have saved me so much time last night. Having to go through all of those individually, check them, then go to the next, was painful

Loudenkl, it's in the module/campaign_base/audio/vo/en-us/vo/wwisestreams_campaign_base.erf
There are over 35,000 files though and they are NOT organized in any way. You have to listen through each one to find anything. only managed to get through 3,000 right now. Found some stuff I've not heard before, though. For example, all non-rogues have recorded trap alerts like Merrill and Fenris warning about traps or opening chests. Weird why they'd do that.

Crimea River - now that's an interesting because for me it's 140343725.ogg and I don't even [2a0ab98d8159165d] listed..
Which version of DA2 are you running? I'm running the en-us version
And you're more than welcome.

2a0ab98d8159165d is most certainly the hash of the file name (ie, Crimea River doesn't have up to date file lists).loudenkl wrote...
Inzhuna - 35K+ files, wow.. looks like it will take a while to sift through those files.

And this is me pulling an Anders surprise smooch on you folks who've done your research on how to get these files/laid it out for us non-technically-literate folks (like me), thankyouthankyouthankyou. *3*

Is it against the rules to post that song, because I would love to have it. Shame them didn't put it on the soundtrack.

I've found two files for the one I was looking for in my previous post, one starting in "[7bad..." and one starting in "[e45d...". They're only 20-some seconds though... unfortunately a lot of these songs appear to be split into multiple parts, dunno how I'm supposed to find them all if I even wanted to try stringing them all back together.

I just want rid of the jarring clunk effect of walking on stone, replacing it was something that won't make my head hurt.

Anyway, which song is the one that plays near/in the Qunari compound at the docks? The one with the voices.
