Does this mean there's a way to replace the in-game score (within reason) Personally I think this score was amateur w/ a decent audio engineer. Though they did say the score was completely rushed... If anyone could point me in the right direction (or just tell me it's not possible) It'd be awesome :D I'd love to rewrite the score.

okay.. figured out my problem with the batch file. I didn't need the switch "--full-setup" at the end.
Now it's a matter of going throught ogg files to see what they sound like.

Here is a more user friendly and summarized tutorial on how to get these audo files:

1. Download the programs .pyGYFF and ww2ogg.

2. Launch the "editor".exe in the .pyGFF folder

3. When this is open, click on "File -------> Export All". Navigate to your Dragon Age 2 directory. (Dragon Age 2/packages/core/audio/sound and click on the "wwisestreams_core.erf" file.

4. Make a folder on your desktop or wherever, and export the files to the location.

5. In this SAME folder, copy ALL the contents of the ww2ogg folder and put them in that folder as well.

6. Now, right click on an .ogg file, and change what opens it to the ww2ogg.exe found in the same folder.

7. Double click any .ogg file and another converted file will be made instantly in that folder under the .ogg file you initally clicked. (you'll know which one it is). I'm not sure what programs they work in besides FOOBAR, but that's what I'm using and it works fine!

-Thanks to everyone above for figuring this out! B)

In addition to the steps that Reara has outlined, I also created a batch file to help convert all the ogg files all at once

1. In the same folder that Reara indicates - create a *.bat file
2. Inside the batch file, put in the following:

FOR %%a in (*.ogg) do ww2ogg "%%a"

3. Save
4. Then, double-click the batch file, and it should run everything through the ww2ogg.exe program.

Ugh, that would have saved me so much time last night. Having to go through all of those individually, check them, then go to the next, was painful :bandit:

Thanks for this, guys! Do you guys know where is the party banter and dialogue lines? I extracted the ogg files from the 'vo' folder but it seems to be just battle cries and screams.

edit: never mind, found them. Thanks again for sharing the way to do this :)

Reara.. after doing about dozen or so of the 'drag and drop' method - I thought there had to be a better way.. so I googled 'ww2ogg' and found some topics on running a batch process.

But yea.. it's a real pain to do them individually.

Inzhuna -
which erf file? It would be fun to hear the banter..

Has anyone found Aveline's theme music? For example, when Wesley dies?

Yep, found the Wesley's death theme music. But I renamed it so I can't tell what it was originally called. Could upload it somewhere if you want.
Loudenkl, it's in the module/campaign_base/audio/vo/en-us/vo/wwisestreams_campaign_base.erf
There are over 35,000 files though and they are NOT organized in any way. You have to listen through each one to find anything. only managed to get through 3,000 right now. Found some stuff I've not heard before, though. For example, all non-rogues have recorded trap alerts like Merrill and Fenris warning about traps or opening chests. Weird why they'd do that.

At least or me, the I'm Not Calling You a Liar credits song is [2a0ab98d8159165d].ogg_conv.ogg

Thanks for sharing this, loudenkl and Refara. ^_^

Inzhuna - 35K+ files, wow.. looks like it will take a while to sift through those files.

Crimea River - now that's an interesting because for me it's 140343725.ogg and I don't even [2a0ab98d8159165d] listed..
Which version of DA2 are you running? I'm running the en-us version
And you're more than welcome.

English-US version. It's the Signature Edition, as well. I'm using Windows Vista.

I have the standard retail version (running Win7 Pro), so that might explain the differences between your file name and mine. but it's still strange

2a0ab98d8159165d is most certainly the hash of the file name (ie, Crimea River doesn't have up to date file lists).

I think the Wesley death theme is 26474058, 1:00 duration? Might be mixing it up with the Carver/Bethany death, though. >A<;

And this is me pulling an Anders surprise smooch on you folks who've done your research on how to get these files/laid it out for us non-technically-literate folks (like me), thankyouthankyouthankyou. *3*

Thought Process, I'm a little confused. Are you saying that 2a0ab98d8159165d is the correct ogg for I'm Not Calling You a Liar ?
I think that I need sift back through the list files, because I'm certain that I don't have this file

BTW.. I've really have enjoyed your work on DA2 and ME2

2a0ab98d8159165d.ogg is the same thing as 140343725.ogg (the latter being the actual proper file name).

Is it against the rules to post that song, because I would love to have it. Shame them didn't put it on the soundtrack.

So, did any of you happen to find the stringy battle music in the Primeval Thaig/Deep Roads which sounds kind of like it's inspired by the fugue part of Bach's most famous Toccata and Fugue? (here-ish)

I know that was 18 days ago, OP, but did you find the sad Hawke family theme you were looking for? It appears to be [8beb097472c19626].ogg_conv.

I've found two files for the one I was looking for in my previous post, one starting in "[7bad..." and one starting in "[e45d...". They're only 20-some seconds though... unfortunately a lot of these songs appear to be split into multiple parts, dunno how I'm supposed to find them all if I even wanted to try stringing them all back together.

no luck anyone on modding ingame sounds?

I just want rid of the jarring clunk effect of walking on stone, replacing it was something that won't make my head hurt.

^ Maybe someone is able to mod that out.

Anyway, which song is the one that plays near/in the Qunari compound at the docks? The one with the voices.
