I get this "unable to connect to database error, so I can't start the Toolset...
in the wiki it says;  "Some users report that the installer fails to create the SQL database (e.g. your
Dragon Age\\toolssql\\data
folder is empty). You can enter the following command to try restoring the database manually (Change the paths to
bw_dragonage_content.bak
and your Dragon Age folder as appropriate):
"C:\\Program
Files\\Microsoft SQL Server\\90\\Tools\\Binn\\"sqlcmd -S .\\BWDATOOLSET -E -Q
"RESTORE DATABASE bw_dragonage_content FROM DISK = 'C:\\Program
Files\\Dragon Age\\tools\\dbbak\\bw_dragonage_content.bak' WITH MOVE
'bw_dragonage_content' TO 'C:\\Program Files\\Dragon
Age\\tools\\toolssql\\Data\\bw_dragonage_content.mdf', MOVE
'bw_dragonage_content_Log' TO 'C:\\Program Files\\Dragon
Age\\tools\\toolssql\\Data\\bw_dragonage_content.ldf'" I am just like What the hell does that mean?

Yeah, lots of people have this problem.

I had a link to a site that got the SQL database running and the toolset could connect to it, but then it failed to populate the DB so the toolset was useless.

Frankly I've given up on it after spending 3-4 hours a day for the last week trying to get the toolset to work. Unlike the devs who are also obviously frustrated with this problem, I'm not being paid for the headaches and blood pressure spikes ;)

We'll just have to wait for a fix then. ;)

I say that it is a shame that it came out with such those problems, they should be launching out a patch ASAP!!!!! I got the same damned problem.

Well, there's nothing we can do about it.

the above is a SQL query for fixing it (I assume haven't had the problem myself). which mean that you must login as a admin on your MSSQL server and execute those commands.

And how exactly do I do that?

If someone would be so kind as to provide a step by step with screenshots, it would be very much appreciated.

That jibberish is supposed to be entered at a command prompt not in MSSQL.

Got the same problem and all the solutions proposed in other threads I tried simply failed. On top of that, strangely, i get an error everytime I go on the toolset wiki (not the other ones) and it asks me to log in, even if I'm already logged in. The second problem is pretty bad when you got the first, but I don't really care about it as long as someone can come with a nice solution for the toolset problem so just saying.

btw, same avatar is clearly a coincidence, but i still like the face he makes.

Edit : Will try that

Edit 2 : Not working here. In fact, I can do everything as described but get no result.
Don't know for anyone else.

Hey Dreadthreat, not sure where you are with this, but that command *is* supposed to be run in the command prompt. The first part is opening a connection to the DB, and the other lines are running the command itself, which is just doing the copying and such.

I am using Windows XP myself, so I don't know much about permissions issues, but you may need to change permissions on that empty "Data" folder so the file can be created there.

Yea, I know. But the problem I have got now is that I have no way to get admin rights to MS SQL.... So I'll just have to give up. It's just a shame.... I had been looking forward to modding this game.

Is it possible to Install the toolset in another location? Say I install it to a folder on the desktop. Is that possible?

Edit: It Wasn't -.-'

Edit2: And why do we need to connect to a database? why not do it like other Toolsets.... like Bethesda's Oblivion toolset, or the G.E.C.K....
