Is it me or do I do half damage (almost) to bosses? Oo

You're not wrong. Go onto your Hawke's Attribute page and let the mouse hover over your Attack stat.

The higher the level of boss = the more "glancing" (I.e. weaksauce) hits you land.

Bosses are the fights you turn on those sustainables which increase attack etc.

Yep you need the +attack etc buffs vs bosses if you want the same power vs them.
