How do you get the exiled prince as your companian.

I remember doing the quest near the beginning of the game. The quest was called Duty.

Now i've just realised i don't have sebastian as a companion.

Have I done something wrong for him not to be a companion?

He only joins you after the deep roads expedition in act 2.
