I thought it was funny that before you hooked up with Fenris, mom would comment "I've seen the way the elf looks at you" in a positive way. Afterwards, she chides you for being with an elf and a slave. (Though she never made those comments to a male Hawke.)

Oooh, no, mom still approves of "you and the elf" (I believe she says this about Merrill as well).  I've had that dialog both before and after having the sexytime scene with Fenris (on different playthroughs).  What she disapproves of regarding is bringing Orana to your house -- even if you hired her, mom thinks she's your slave.

No I think she was trying to set my femhawke up with that toad the Sensechal. after the sex with fenris, she only says "an elf & a slave. I hope you know what you are doing."

After I romanced Fenris, mom would say, "Your elf friend is rather strange, isn't he?" If you hire Oriana, she only talks about the slave girl after that.

Here's the exact line. It never occurred to me that it would apply to Fenris as it only appears after Orana, but you know, Orana only appears after "A Bitter Pill." Now I have to just give her coin and send her away and see if mom still says this line.

Edit: Looking at the lines surrounding this, actually, I do think it is about Orana, not Fenris.  The talk table is not that clear, though.

It could be.  I don't know.  Here it is with the surrounding lines, which is why I'm thinking it's for Orana.  But I'll test it if I have a save that will work and see what happens if I don't have Orana in the mansion.

My FemHawke screwed it up too and I seem to need to replay Act II as well.

I had to backtrack a few times to get the GOOD ending to Bitter Pill. (Had to have the glowing kiss...) I noticed that during the Questioning Beliefs, you have to answer at least one question with a heart. do not say you are a friend. I got less + points at the time but it triggered the heart/glowy blue.

Thanks for all the advice! Fenris is so complicated, and the romances are so unsatisfying in DA2, grr! I romanced Fenris on my first playthrough as a mage with rivalry way up there. Not having read spoilers, I thought he'd dumped me when he left, and I always liked Anders anyway, so I did the Anders rebound thing. It was nice having him in my house, but I was disappointed at the lack of intimate moments.

On my second playthrough, as a rogue, I wanted to try to have a successful relationship with Fenris. I was careful not to do any pro-mage quests with Fenris around, and I had friendship pretty high with him. But I roguishly got involved with Isabela, ruining the whole thing. She said she didn't want to get involved, and I foolishly said *maybe* one of us would have feelings. Hell, I didn't say we would get married or civilly united or whatever. So now I'm all alone again *cries*

Maybe I'll reload from a save, or the third time will be the charm: a gay Fenris romance with warrior Hawke, lol!

It is implied that the relationship continues offscreen, as it gets mentioned occasionally elsewhere (banters and conversations). I do wish that there was more on-screen time though.

Yeah, Fenris doesn't like you sleeping with anyone else. I finally completed my mission - to sleep with everyone on my current Hawke. Fenris always has to be first, then Isabela. After that, Anders and Merrill last. (Merrill and Anders might be interchangeable, though).
It was pretty fun. XD

I intend to try this. My second playthrough is going to be a bloodlusty (emphasis on the lusty) battlemaiden. Jubilee was all talk and didn't have the guts to back it up when she got called on her flirts.

Second playthrough, I flirted with both Anders and Fenris.....you can sleep with Anders and dump him, and still start the Fenris romance. just have to do it in the right order in Act 2.

Third playthrough, flirted with Isabella, then played dumb when she came to my house, still have the Fenris romance....AND I picked the "So you're ending it?" option after he came to the house. And I'm finding with Fenris, you don't NEED to pick the hear icon all the time.....I've only picked the heart icon twice before act 3....once in Act 1 and once on Act 2.....Act 3, picked the "We don't know what the future brings (olive branch )" and then picked the "you're forgiven" option (can't see saying "You've got me" after Alone, or "Stay with me" after Act3 Questioning Beliefs.)

Isn't she talking about Orana there??  That's what I was interpreting that line as.  Otherwise she says "I've seen the way you and that elf look at each other..."

Weel, it looks I'm not only one who has problems with Fenris . But I don't now ..is it good or bad?
Can anyone help me? My current problem - fem mage Hawke+Fen friendmance, 100% friendship, Act 2 Questioning Beliefs done, he got the book, everything went great, but - after Bitter Pill, I waited glowing kiss, but there wasn't any, Fenris left. Next time he returned and had some fun with my Hawke, but I wanted glowing scene . I thought you must have friendship for glowing kiss... . Do you have any idea, what triggers this (glowing kiss) scene? I have several ideas where is the problem, but I'm not sure : I have active romance with Isabela :innocent: - didn't sleep with her YET! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/bandit.png[/smilie](this is threat for Fenris LOL), or - I'm playing agressive Hawkette, or - she is a mage , or - bug .
Is there someone wiser than me?

You get the glowy kiss for either friendship or rivalry -- you have to pick the option just after a Bitter Pill when he's at your house the first time. If he leaves and comes back, you get the non-glowy version.

Edit: That is, the SECOND option.  You don't have to pick the first one where you tell him how worried you were.  It's when he's about to go if you pick the option that hawke grabs his arm and, well, walls happen.

Well, one way to find out if Mother refers to Fenris or Orana with her elven slave line is to eliminate the possibility of romantic reference... hire Orana while strictly rivals/friends with Fenris, not lovers, and see if she still say that.

I sadly lack such a save to test .

I tried it, but nothing happened. I think what they are doing is rivalmance scene , but I have 100% frienship... Is it because of Isabela?

I tested.  It's in response to Orana, not Fenris.

Ejo, I mean convo - I picked every <3 option in this scene. Fen left, then he returned, and I had kiss and fun.
OK, I'm going to sacrifice myself for the greater good :innocent:.I'll find some older save, no flirting with Isa, I'll do Bitter Pill once more and we'll see. Perhaps it will be usefull for somebody...

Questioning beliefs does have to be done before he'll kiss Hawke at all, but it sounded like you had finished it before hand. Since he came back, it seems weird that the romance with Isabela would matter.
