Merrill is sweet but Isabela is a lot of fun so I chose her

Jack is awesome, one of my favourite bioware characters. The character design alone is absolutely brilliant, so badass.

Warning: Herein be spoilers, but since this is a spoiler forum, you should expect it.

To me, Merrill was the woobie who's so innocent that I couldn't help but want to help her. Unfortunately, that caused all sorts of problems for her, as the game progressed. When the sex happened, it set off all sorts of alarms too (the 'I love you! Oh I probably shouldn't have said that' comment immediately set off the alarms in my head... as Vince Vaughn said in Wedding Crashers, a 4-alarm clinger.)

With Isabela, I felt it was more of a romance of equals. Isabela isn't just there for me to woo and chase (though I did have that option); she does her own fair share of chasing too. I didn't feel like she was clingy or codependent, but still attractive and a vulnerable side she refuses to show anybody but Hawke.
