Hey all.
I've perused a number of these threads to try and fix my issue. Since launch I've been unable to play DA2 at Max w/ HR textures without it freezing up and crashing.
I have updated to the 267.59 drives using the modified .inf file and gained a decent amount of fps, as well as the latest DA patch, but the crashing is still apparent, even after only 10mins of playing.
My rig:
Core i7 950 @ 3.8GHz
ASUS P6X58D-E Mobo
6GB Mushkin RAM 1600MHz @ 6-8-6-24
EVGA GTX 570 @ 800 Core 2000 Shader
My conclusions so far:
Not a heat issue as it locks up even when my GPU is only ~66C.
My GPU is only taxed to ~90% so I should have enough grunt in my machine to run at these settings.
I'm not getting any black boxes or artifacts that other people are getting but I'm not sure how relevant that info is.
I'm not doing anything in particular in the game. It can freeze in fights or just when running around kirkwall.
I can run it on High at 50+ fps which I don't mind. It's just if I have a DX11 card, I would actually like to use the features it enables.
If there is anything else people can think of that may help or not, please let me know.
Regards,
Dillinger

my guess would be, check out your ram, have you tried running at 1333mhz, check motherboard manual out, check in BIOS an see if Vdimm voltage is set at auto, and if you keep it set at 1600mhz you may have to change the voltage setting manually. again check MB manual. good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
The RAM is fine. The frequency and timings are actually stock for my sticks so I don't think that's the issue. I'll run a memtest anyway just in case the sticks are faulty but every other game I have runs totally stable..
