What I would like to see is that Cullen realizes that the Chantry/ Templars is/ are rather corrupted and is trying to find an alternate route to establish a circle... (remember when he says "I'll look ito it") Considering that he disagrees with the Circle in Kirkwall it would be plausible... However after whar happened in Ferelden he might also see the DA2 happenings as the last straw (oh wait wasn't that the name of the quest?? lol) and lose his way completely and leave the Chantry all together and would then be recruitable for whatever cause we are going to pursue in DA3. Who knows, maybe we'll be on the opposite side in DA3 and we'll be fighting against the mages... They can go nuts just as easy as Templars can... look at Tevinter... As it is right now I'll probably side with Leliana because I know her... she works for the Devine, right?
If you talk to Cullen at one point he says how he wonders if he is still serving the Order anymore or just Meredith. That the Order there has lost it's way. No matter the result you pick. Cullen draws the line when Meredith wants the Champion's head. You know the only person with as much if not more influence than her's?

I could see that happening. And maybe you could help him to get over his lyrium addiction for one of his personal quests. Although Samson had said that if Templars don't have lyrium, it would kill them... Hopefully Cullen isn't so far gone.

I know, it was a poor attempt at humor. I personally really liked Greg Ellis' Anders but given that a bunch of DA2 scenes would be really weird with him talking to himself (if Anders is in the party), I get why they changed VA's.
That's not why they changed his voice. If you pay close attention to some of the minor characters in the game, they are voiced by the same people who voice some of your companions (Varric, Fenris, Sebastian all come to mind).
ANYWAY, I agree. Cullen should be a companion in any expansion for this game. He is a well developed and likable character.

I've always trusted Bioware, and have always loved what they did. So I wouldn't be scared that they bring him back. I know they'd do something awesome

I totally agree with the above. On the one hand it would really be awesome to get Cullen as romancable companion, because the poor guy has been through a lot of crap and deserves some happiness. On the other hand the developers/writers might be evil and develop a romance with a tragic ending for him or for the maincharacter. So, let's cross our fingers that we will see more of Cullen in a good way.

As it was previously said before he was really developed this time around. I did not like him at all in DA:O but this time I was always happy to talk to him and kept asking if there was anything I could do to help lol. Once things started to explode in Act 3 I was really worried that I might have to kill him which was gonna make me a very sad panda. Anders broke my heart so I didn't want to destroy Cullen too.

I'm not sure how DLC with Cullen would work, considering after the epilogue the Templars have reverted back to independent status. I guess he could quit the Templars, but considering what he went through in DA:O, I doubt that he feels that mages are in the right. Remember he doesn't consider the Templars to be bad, he considers Meredith to be overzealous and ruling with too much of an iron fist. I think he still believes that Mages need to be controlled by the templars, but not to the levels that Meredith sinks to in the third act.
He could be the one trying to rebuild the Order.

But hopefully his mage-o-meter is fixed.
Cullen, sweetheart, you may need to find a new line of work.
