I've read that too in FF and frankly, I don't buy it. Mages are not freakin' biotics! They don't have a sort of low "hum"..
If templars COULD feel their magic, then what's the point of phylacteries? Also, apostates would be caught faster and better, no?

So, I started yet another playthrough and noticed something I hadn't before. At the risk of making a fool of myself - what the dickens is Cullen doing?

I thought he was casting something but the next time he did it, he appeared to take something out of his, erm, behind (pocket?). I don't use bombs and such usually so is he just throwing something like that? Or is it a secret Templar skill that they don't show off in public much? ;-)

I think he's like the templar lieutenant mobs; they have the aura thing and do the shove sword in ground, throw bomb move.

Ahhh, that makes sense.  I hadn't noticed them doing that either...I'm so observant and keep a keen eye on the battlefield.

So, in DAO Cullen was written by Sheryl Chee. I wonder who did it in DAII. Does anyone know?

Jennifer Hepler wrote Cullen, as well as Anders, Sebastian, Bethany, Elthina, and Leandra, as she announced in this thread.

Wow, I think Jennifer Hepler needs her own fan-club, because I love everything she writes.

I agree

I at last finished my rogue pt, siding with templars....
Cullen is much more mature and sympathising for the mages than i thought. And a strong character.....he defies Meredith's orders about the surrending mages....... oh....the look of her face when he does that...she would kill him right there and now if she didnt have other problems to deal with :)

JH did a very good job with his character.

now if we could have him in any future game or DLC, i would be a very happy woman :)

I want to play the naughty mage and the hapless recruit with him so bad D:

Please BioWare let DA2 not be the last time we meet him.

If that were to happen... aww, heck no! D: But I'm positive that BioWare will stick with Greg Ellis and keep his smexy look or we Cullenholics will let BioWare feel our wrath.

*sigh* I want a body pillow with a half naked Cullen on it looking all shy ♡

After seeing his oh-so-reasonable side in DA:2, I'd be open to it. But the first time I heard him in DA: 2, I did a double take between Cullen and Anders and wished there could be some sort of blood magic voice and personality swap spell. I LOVED the old Anders and gradually grew to really dislike the singled-track/fanatic DA:2 Anders (even before the chantry incident).
I'm just afraid that if Cullen is in DA:3, Bioware will use the mirror of transfiguration on him. He'll come out totally different (and messed up, a la DA:2 Anders) and I will have to hate him or kill him.
Cullen must come back with Greg Ellis--it's a package deal.

I say we picket Bioware if Cullen ever turns up without that voice.  Picket with them with signs and everything.  We'll invite Greg Ellis along to join in. Posted Image  Although if he spoke that might distract us from our goal.

Cullen does seem to be bucking the trend and getting saner in each game though.  This may bode well for any future incarnations.

I dont see any reason for bioware to give us a much more good looking, mature, sane and reasonable Cullen only to have him transformed into some kind of....whatever their evil minds are propably planning to transform him...
Im not saying they cant do it...heh...they will propably do it just to see our reactions and discomfort lol
i just cant see any reason (or maybe i dont want to)
Anders had a really big role and he couldnt do the things he did if he was the same as Awakenings char.....he had to change for the "bad"
Cullen has changed for the good.  (ok...i dont know how to write that in English but i hope you understand what i mean :) )

If I create a group, who will join? If she wrote Gorim too, then I love her even more :)

Now back to Cullen. What do you think will he do if Hawke's sided with mages? The City has no Viscount, no Knight-Commander, no First Enchanter. Maybe even Aveline left with Hawke? What will our knight do? I remember in Lothering in similar situation templars were the police force or something. So, will Cullen send his men to chase the escaped mages or will he try to uphold the law in the city until the nobles elect the new Viscount? Imagine this: sheriff Cullen. Cool.

I think it's probably more to do with the books he reads during his off duty hours:
