Now back to Cullen. What do you think will he do if Hawke's sided with mages? The City has no Viscount, no Knight-Commander, no First Enchanter. Maybe even Aveline left with Hawke? What will our knight do? I remember in Lothering in similar situation templars were the police force or something. So, will Cullen send his men to chase the escaped mages or will he try to uphold the law in the city until the nobles elect the new Viscount? Imagine this: sheriff Cullen. Cool.

I believe he will chose the second. The city in disarray, mages on the loose, riots about to burst in every corner, plunterings from every small criminal.....  He has enough problems as it is right now.  And he's on his own. (I dont know if Aveline remains with the guards after the battle but even if i dont thing of her as a person that would abandon her duties so easily, given the circumstances, i think she would prefer to leave than stay coz she propably would cause more problems staying than helping ...she's after all connected with Hawke  and i can picture a situation than she would have to even go to trilal for helping her)
Gathering the remaining templars and start a witch hunt wont solve any problem and he knows it. After the battle, there are not many templars left to just organise them to hunt mages...they may be able to capture a few but that will not solve the problem. He understands, more than anyone, that the city needs a person in charge and while i doont see him taking this job i imagine he will stay and try to uphold the low and help the guard, keep things in order as much as he can till the city recovers and maybe a new Viscount is elected. Then he could just join forces with Cass in order to find Hawke, or helping the Chantry rebuild again.....i can even see him traveling to meet the Divine.

Just have to add my support to this topic. Cullen is just perfect, and if he is a LI in a future game I hope DG writes him, as he is spot on with his male LI writing. :-)

Cullen isn't exactly sane, by the way. He seems slightly more rational in DA2 but by the end of DAO no matter what you do, he's a basket case.

Not to dis another LI in this thread, but that sort of sounds a bit like Anders' romance to me

@Gala as well - that armour is indeed worthy of being annuled.  I notice some Cullen heads floating around -might be time to insert one onto a PC.

Not quite true. If I remember it correctly he only becomes... mentally instable if the warden asks the queen/the king to free the mages. But since it never happened, because the chantry said "no" to this splendid idea, Cullen remained sane. I asked to become chancellor and I never got that epilogue slide where Cullen kills the mages.

Well, he has been tortured by blood mages and abnominations for Maker knows how long.  If you do the Circle quest last it could potentially be a year.  Even if you do it first, the gossips in Lothering are already talking about what's happened there so, best case, is weeks.

Cullen will need close examination to ensure his continued recovery from his ordeal.
I therefore support Cullen's heavy inclusion in DA3 as a romancable companion... for medicine.. and science!

Edit: I say DA3 because come on, a DLC/expansion won't be enough. Really, think about it.

Hmm.... I'm almost always pro-mage on all my Hawkes and I guess that I'll continue with that in DA3. Guess that means there would be a Cullen rivalmance, and that sounds like a lot of fun =) wonder if you would be able to talk to him about his time in the ferelden circle and how that has changed his view on mages.

Hawke has already gotten my favourite man from Awakening and transformed him into DAII!Anders. So no way, I hope she will never get Cullen. If make him a LI, then for a new hero, please. And Greg Ellis' voice is mandatory. And I agree, a DLC is a humiliation for this gorgeous templar. I don't need Sebastian #2: you just start to like him and suddenly the game is over I want Cullen as my favourite tank. With grenades and the shiny sword-spinning (omg, it sounds almost like the pike-twirling!).

At the moment I'm hoping for a return of Hawke for DA3 but I'll play whatever they give me because I've never been unhappy with their games. But for now I'm dreaming of making a nice mage Hawke to rivalmance him =)
