But you can hardly blame the cops for "almost" not catching you when you break the law. I would bet that, with Hawke and half his friends out of town, Bethany had to be a little more open with her powers to make ends meet.trobbins777 wrote...
I know he was just doing his job but that doesn't make it any easier. Especially when he says that he normally would have thrown us in jail. We were so close to getting to the mansion in high town. It felt like getting arrested for drunk driving right as you pull into your driveway(I would never drive drunk but you get the idea). This combined with the fact that he holds himself above mages.I know he had a traumatic experience, and i see why he is the way he is, but his arrogance about the templars having a divine right to mistreat people, kill people, and make mages tranquil (justified or not) as they see fit really bothers me. Especially since this man is overseeing my Hawke's sister's safety.Caja wrote...
The way I see it he is just doing his job. If you consider what has happened to him in the past, you can't blame him for not being overly fond of mages. Besides, I rather have Cullen take Bethany away than one of the other templars.trobbins777 wrote...
I want to like Cullen I really do, but his whole arrogant attitude towards mages, and the fact that he took Bethany from me, makes me wish their was some way for my Hawke to beat the crap out of him.
I'm not biased against him for being a templar. I feel the same way about Anders when he says there shouldn't be any templars. There must always be templars to protect people from blood mages.
But they should serve man, not rule him.

I think it's cute that he spoke about my Amell, but I see it more as a "first time I was in love" than the "only woman in the whole wide world for me". Maybe it's just because I draw on personal experiences
edit: I got the quotes messed up and removed them

I want to romance Cullen in DA3 with my Hawkemy Amell did the US and I think my Hawke would be more than capable to make him love her. I get a bit of a feeling that he lives for his job, if he perhaps got the opportunity to live a bit for himself... then he might be interested in an relationship.

I very much agree. I see him as having a crush on Amell, but now he is A Man, with A Man's Needs.
He is terribly sweet to F!Hawke in the game. Cullen has a whole lot of untapped possibilities.

I do see your point there, and that's probably true (it would be in real life, anyway) - and like I said, in the end, if the romance was available, I'd do it. BUT remember he said he's never met another woman like Amell and well, he's met Hawke since then
As for your second comment, well, I plea the fifth
EDIT: HA, I was looking at Greg Ellis' IMDB and apparently he was the antiques appraiser in the Reno 911 ep "Coconut Nut Clusters." Which is hilarious by itself, but now even MORE amusing.

He only says that if you do an Amell import, right? (My Amell is with Alistair) Regardless, I think he has a thing for Hawke, but, you know-- the whole apostate issue... It's not like he can bring Hawke home to Meredith, and play footsie under the table in the templar dining hall.
I'm currently ficcing about Cullen and Hawke having met before she meets any of her other companions, because I'm convinced the only thing keeping them apart is Anders Glare. We already know Cullen has a taste for mages.
I don't know what it says about me that I find these pixel people far more interesing than most people I know IRL. Fantasy rules.

I was mostly just being silly with that comment
To be quite honest, I actually like Hawke/Cullen too. And your fic! Though I will admit/lament that I did not get to read, ahem, certain parts of it as closely as I would have liked, as I am at work. But, I assume they're as good as the rest and I hope that you continue it.

See? It really is all Anders fault that Cullen is left out in the cold. The writers turned him into an uber co*kblock for all other characters!
Thank you! I'm glad you like the ficcy so far. Yeah, my stuff is definitely NSFW. I have another 7 pages written.... Nearly all pr0ns. *headdesk* I'm hoping to conjure some actual plot soon.

As for Cullen still longing for Amell. Hmmm..... my Amell teased him of course, and by the end of origins she did the US. So how I see it, Cullen has a sweet memory of a special girl he meet some 7-10 years ago, she even flirted with him one, but then she died. If my Hawke acutally got some flirt lines with Cullen now I think she would get him. I see it more as Hawke actually have to push Cullen to open his eyes a bit. No joy in living in dreams of the past. And 7 years would qualify as a mourning period long enough.

I know Cullen has some extra dialogues if you side with the templars in the end, while your party goes through the Gallows killing everything that casts. There are some mages who surrender and Hawke can decide their fate. And seems like Cullen votes to let them live. But I may be wrong, because I didn't try it myself.
That part is actually pretty awesome. It's worth watching on youtube if you haven't tried a templar playthrough.

My templar sympathetic warrior did it both ways. If you say to spare them, he agrees with you. If you say to kill them, he goes along with that too. Basically, DA2 Cullen is a Hawke supporter, and whatever Hawke decides is fine with him.
Which lends more hope to the possibility of Cullen as a future companion, otherwise why would they write Cullen supporting Hawke no matter what? There's got to be more to his story. I want to know what it is.

Either way its worth doing if you haven't - Anders is too funny when he's going off and Cullen and Hawke are like a panto team doing spies.
(Oh Trans - dob = rat on or inform on - panto = pantomime, a form of entertainment generally aimed at children where the characters act in an unusually exaggerated fashion)

There's an option to dob Anders in after "Justice" to Cullen. I'm not sure if its always available after that quest, or you need to have a history of Templar support.

Except the fact that when I squeeled on Anders, Cullen did nothing!!!
Hawke: "Anders did something suspicious in the chantry, you should arrest him."
Cullen: "Really? Thanks for the warning. Oh, right, I'll get right on that....um, later.
Hawke: "Why later? He's standing right here."
Anders: *in an anxious whisper* "Hawke, what are you doing?!"
Hawke: "You've been naughty, Anders, and this nice templar is going to sort you out."
Cullen: "Actually, ah, he can go for now. He probably has errands to run, right? We'll talk later, apostate."
Hawke: *facepalm* "I tried to warn you guys. Don't blame me if it all comes down around your ears."
It's a funny scene and all, being able to tattle on Anders, but silly too since you're blowing the whistle AND NOBODY DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT! Just another little piece of The Game that makes no sense except for the lulz.

He (Greg Ellis, not Cullen) was also in an episode of Dexter as a lecherous fashion photographer. It didn't end well for him.

I loaded an old save and made a video of Cullen's lines when you side with Meredith. Here it goes.
It's awful, but I felt so nice when he was talking about Kinlock Hold <3

I've found a video where Cullen is trying to talk some sense into Meredith, when those mages surrender. Odd, I was told he mentiones Lake Calenhad, and here he doesn't. I should try it with my Amell import.
Aww, Cullen is so awesome when he tells Meredith to step down
That video skips the investigate options. =(
He says: "The Right has always been a last resort, when every mage involved was beyond salvation. The situation was far more dire in Fereldan's Circle, and yet many mages were saved. We could still do as much here."
The Hawke can ask if there's a way to tell if they're blood mages.
Meredith: There is not.
Cullen: But they haven't resorted to it, even to save their own lives. Perhaps, if we watched them carefully-
Meredith: And if they hope to escape by playing innocent? Will you accept that responsibility, Cullen?
Cullen: Yes. I believe that's what being a templar is about.
Something about the way he says that line... *sigh*
