hello! i just wanted to pop in and voice my support for cullen to return in the future. character growth is so cool and makes stories that much more enjoyable. and he is such an awesome character!
though i rather think cullen would be too similar to cassandra to be made into a companion. the thought makes me sad...

Hmm, I suppose they are similar in that they both represent "the establishment"Chantry view but there's so many interesting ways they are/could be different (I say in a hopeful voice!). No matter how DA2 ended, Cullen's now the templar who turned on his superior officer and defended the Champion. Or even an ex-templar...?   Cassandra is a black ops agent of the Divine with her eyes necessarily on the "big" picture. Dunno, hopefully could be different enough to include both -- right? RIGHT?!?!   Bummer, this may now start to dim my DA3 hopes...   although, if I had to choose one, I'd still vote Cullen over Cassandra if I had my druthers (and, um, got a vote!).

I go talk to him after every new quest too. I giggle when he says he's been hearing rumors about Hawke. Yeah, Cullen, they're true, come and get me, BB!  Naughty mage needs to be punished!

Yeah, I just started regular Gallows visits in my current playthrough, too, to see what he might have to say. At least in Act 2 he actually talks to me each time instead of just tantalizing me about the rumors he's been listening to. Heh.

I was struck this time by his answers to my query about the Tranquil Solution. (I'm playing a "Circle is good for protecting everyone", "there has to be a better way" mage). I know we've talked before about whether he actually agrees with it or not. I thought it was curious that he actually talks about Tranquility as a mercy, developed as a kinder alternative to death. I liked that he also acknowledged the other side of the coin, listening to the mages who have told him they consider it a fate worse than death. I dunno, it's those conversations where I'm impressed by his willingness to present both sides of the debate. Of course, he's also clever enough to not say what HE really thinks, smexy smarty pants.

Alright, as I wrote my dear friend Selenora (who has been absent from this board as of late...I think work is bogging her down) I think we need more Cullen sig options! I created one and added it to my signature, but if someone could help me come up with some cheeky or fun sayings to put on them it would be greatly appreciated! Also, to note, I am a web programmer, not a designer (although I *can* do simple design work if forced to) so if someone wants me to change something specific about a sig I won't be offended, lol.

A Lore question:

Did anyone try to import the savegame with the Annulment was invoked on Fereldan Circle? What Cullen says then? He still says it was justified? I think his lines sound very clever: they will work if the Circle of Ferelden was destroyed and they will work if it wasn't. lol, Cullen reminds me of Avina in ME, gives you facts, but never clearly says what he thinks about it all.

That fan page is just making me laugh. The stuttering is hilarious.

And, I'd never seen that post about templars and (lack of) chastity. Nice to hear it from the horse's Gaider's mouth. So, Templars can marry, but only people with their own "means of support." So, what, acknowledging that templar paychecks don't go very far? I find that part very curious.

Hmm. Interesting question. I have no idea, as I've never annulled the Ferelden Circle. He does have that line, at the end of Act 3 when you side with templars (your vid of that), that they were able to save some of the mages there. I wouldn't think that line would be true if you'd actually killed everyone...

Gaider also said in the Chastity thread that Chantry rules don't work on mages who are not from the Circle (obviously), sooooo, technically a templar can marry a warden mage or an apostate mage who has enough money to feed themselves. It's strange, I thought Chantry pays well to their knights. But I also thought that templars must spend their money on their equipment. Like swords, runes, potions, maybe to repair their armor and pay for the healing after a fight with a random abomination.
