New Cullen holysmite looks funny . And he opens up too much. Like "Hello, arrows, here I am!"

I'm still proud that I taught him to cast holysmite with his legs, because he probably has nice legs :innocent:

Ahem, so.... Avilia.... while it seems you are in a clever and artsy mood... what would you say to a "Make love, not holy smite" sig banner...? My own skills are rudimentary at best.
I wholeheartedly suppost this!

So why does Hawkes holy smite not do that? I always max out Templar skills and never get pretty rings...sulk.
Actually, I believe that's a commander skill that you usually see when you are fighting an enemy commander. They use it to buff their troops etc. My templar Warrior!Hawke never did that either.

Cullen: I've got your back! *does the buffing-sword-whirwind*
Hawke: Err... You can't buff us unless you're in the party selection screen.
And what always makes me facepalm is when he says that he's "getting overwhelmed!D:" when my mageHawke is the one doing the tanking... Stop buff-dancing and lend a hand, would you?

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. I still think the coolest part of those, tho, is the sparkly star grenades of death that he throws, whatever the heck those are...Bekkael wrote...

That might fit next to your existing one. It also might need more work...if you're happy with it I won't fiddle. PM me if you had ideas about how it should look

I really liked the old animation as well but I must say I prefer the new one. Only because my game doesn't crash everytime I use it

Miracle- that pic with Cullen and the arrows made me spit my tea!!!!
Avilia and R2, I bow to your mad skillz in banner making. Those look awesome!
I never get to see Cullen throw his cool grenades, darn it! I think I'm usually way too busy trying not to die.

I've only seen Cullen toss those balls about on higher difficulties when the fight with Wilmod goes on for a while.
And that sig I made now has me picturing Cullen juggling grenades while telling Meredith off.

BTW, I was thinking about the Rite of Tranquility from Meredith's PoV and it was fun.
Meredith gathered her templars in the Templars' hall and addressed them with a speech.
"As you all aware, the percentage of blood mages in Kirkwall is higher than anywhere else in Free Marches. I would say "anywhere else in Thedas", but there is always the Tevinter Imperium. The most sorrowful fact is that some of the mages we had to execute this year due to their dabbling in forbidden arts - some of these mages were not apostates or apprentices; no, they were harrowed, tested mages. If only we could use the Rite of Tranquility to stop them before it was too late!" Meredith made a sad face. "But it would have been the violation of the Chantry law. However, for the reasons of humanity, I took a liberty to address our Grand Cleric Elthina, Maker bless her, to allow us to use the Rite of Tranquility for the mages who have been through the Harrowing."
Low hum filled the hall, and Meredith raised her hands, calling for attention.
"My brothers and sisters, my friends. This must be done. The safety of the entire city depends on us, the safety of our wards, these mages, depends on us. I find no pleasure in bloodshed, and if we can avoid it, then we must! Luckily, the Grand Cleric understands what we must do, and she allowed me to chande the rules here in the Circle. I want you to be even more vigilant now, my good knights. If we miss the moment when we can stop mages from falling a prey to the demons, their blood will be on our hands. Let's not make it happen. Dismissed. "
So, I believe that at first Meredith had good reasons to change the laws about the RoT, and she could easily convince her men, Elthina and Cullen that it was justified. That's why I don't blame Cullen for not opposing her during acts 1-2. She could totally make it seem like a good thing.

And about Anders - I think the war would have started without him. It was in the air. He just triggered the conflict in Kirkwall, his actions were not the cause of the war and rebellions.

@Bekkael,yes, second everyone... Cullen was heartbreaking! But, it follows. I have every faith that he'll come around!
@Vaeya, have a great vacation. Hope the move is going/has gone well!
and, @Avilia, again, I so love that banner. I love that it's like cha cha red! LOL

I'm one of those who think Tranquality in the right place, for the right reasons, and by the right people is better than death. Heck, if the Templars in Ferelden hadn't been that 'soft on the robes', Anders would have been Tranquiled that sixth+ time he escaped the Circle... and there wouldn't have been any balms made for the Chantry. (I'm not saying that there wouldn't have been any wars between mages and Templars. But knowing that Meredtih was waiting for a reason to annul the Circle, and sacrificing all its inhabitants in the name of 'spreading a righteous message' was a very very d*** move.)
I personally think tranquility is worse than death
And making Anders tranquil for just wanting to be free would not have been the right choice. He wasn't dangerous at this time, and he just became so dangerous because of his "special" relationship with Justice....

Being heavily pro-mage freedom, I must agree with Rumpeline. I wouldn't want to live as a lobotomized vegetable either. Although, I do also see the need for templars. I just don't think the current prison system in Thedas is the answer. I think there should be some workable compromise, which neither side has really come to the table to explore. I think the Ferelden Circle's (under King Alistair) experiment in autonomy might have yielded some positive insight...if Anders boom hadn't changed everything.Rumpeline wrote...

Ultimately, I partially agree with Cullen's outlook: it's a templars job to oversee mages. But maybe like a parole officer for criminals or police officers do civilians? Only stepping in if the mage violates the law? Otherwise, mages should carry on and be free to live as they choose.
Meredith was way too hardcore, paranoid, power-hungry, and just the worst kind of personality to have over a large group of powerful, angry, repressed people. A powder keg, to be sure. It's no wonder it all blew up.
J-I-F and R2, thanks for the fic support.
