haha - David Gaider doesn't like Cullen I don't think. Did he write Anders? I find that romance a bit like the one he described he'd write for Cullen (don't tell anyone I said that or I'll be in trouble...)

The joke's probably off the boil but I've gotten it out of my system so its all good.

This really shows how much 'camper' Greg Ellis' Anders voice is compared to his Cullen.  Only that little accent gives it away.

OMG, Avilia that was so awesome. Thanks for sharing it. I think everyone is right ... Greg Ellis totally could have "talked" to himself as both Anders and Cullen. They're so different! That said,  Awakenings!Anders didn't quite have that persecuted, self-righteous air Adam Howden gives him in DA2.

Also, that quote from Ser Carver is perfect! Esp with its nice haunting parallels to poor Cullen's experiences.

And David Gaider wrote Anders v.1.0, Jennifer Hepler wrote Anders v.2.0 and Cullen v.2.0 Recently Gaider complained on twitter that he wants to write some agressive sex. And after that statement I wouldn't mind to see his Cullen romance in DA3 Because for some reason I see Cullen as an agressive lover.

Sorry, I just started playing like, last week.

After the reasonable "eww" factor of Origins Cullen I found him rather likeable in DA2 and was surprised. I'm on my second playthrough and find myself talking to him in the Gallows every time I go even though I know he'll say exactly the same thing. In my head, I'm whispering, "These guys behind me are punks and I'd rather hang with you," but of course he'd probably turn me down. 

So, yeah, he surprised me and he made me want to get to know him better. I'm hoping Cullen shows up in DA3.

But, also, by all means, keep going back to talk to him. I still run into little tidbits I missed the first few times. I find they're necessary for me to feed my delusion that he's madly in love with me.  "What would I have of you?? Do you really want me to answer that question?? *ahem*"

Ok, this is probably a dumb question, but a fic I've been reading lately (thanks to the rec of someone here) has Cullen as Wynne's son. Has this ever been canonically denied? I mean I think it's probably not the case, but it would make a kind of crazy sense and it's honestly by far my favorite "Wynne's son" theory I've ever heard.

I know we'll know for sure soon enough, when the novel comes out, but still.

 Sorry if this was mentioned before, but I gave an honest effort to read 65 pages before deciding that I actually wanted to play again. 

So, Greg Ellis is brought back for the relatively minor role of Cullen and a new VA is recast for the major role of Anders, which I find a bit strange. It's possible that it's because Ellis has time constraints, but I prefer my theory that Ellis is either going to pop up in an expansion pack or in DA3 and they need to keep the voice consistent. I doubt we'll be seeing much more of Anders unless it's a cameo, but I'm hoping to see more of Cullen *ahem* in future games, and I hope the recast VA is an indicator.

You won't get in trouble for it... there's some overlap in Cullen and Anders fandom (partially because of Greg Ellis awesomeness) and I honestly agree. A lot of Anders Fangirls joke about the idea that "Anders ALWAYS LOVED YOU," and I feel similarly about Cullen and his Amell (or Surana... not that I object to him being paired with Hawke, but I tend to go for the mage origin stories.)

Actually, another question: is there a Cullen Fan Consensus about the Origins end-cards? I've basically dismissed all of the Origins and Awakening end-cards as not-necessarily-canon at this point, but I was wondering if there is any fan wisdom about them that I'm missing.

In my headcanon, Cullen got a note at the end of Origins that read

"Dear Cullen.
Please don't go crazy.

I was pleased to find Cullen isn't Wynne's son.  I'd feel really bad about her tripping in the Tower and landing my Wardens' sword if she was

I think the VA change for Anders was a combination of Greg Ellis' time constraints and Cullen's increased role in DA2.  It was likely they'd have changed one of them in any case.  If he'd had more time they may have decided to switch Cullen's VA instead and given him Anders to do.

(Some fact in that and some personal theory)

I much prefer the way it turned out.  If we see Cullen again (and signs seem to indicate we will) this means we should (pretty please) have Greg Ellis doing the voice again.

I'm not sure about consensus.  In my head its a combination of rumour, gossip and fact.  I had an idea at one point that Cullen let some mages go and pretended he'd killed them...not sure how that would fly though.

I think Word of God has it that the slides aren't to be taken as canon - which is good with me.  They're a bit patchy when it comes to picking up what actually happened in game at times.

So, I've been lurking about on this thread for a while and thought I should join in on the fun...

One thing that I was wondering is if anyone considered the idea that Cullen could have already joined the Seekers in secret by the end of DA2...the reason that this came to my mind is that I was looking at some of the pictures on the thread and noticed he has a different sword in Act III...perhaps I am reaching here, but instead of the standard templar issue red and gold hilt he had in Act I, he has in Act III a sword with a black and silver hilt (suspiciously "Seekerish" colors to me )...it could be nothing, but I just wonder why Bioware would take the time to change that if it had no significance...hmm...
