We actually have some jokes about female pirates in roleplaying where I come from, as most of players who do them tend to end up with stupid and shallow characters. Funny as DA2 continues that tradition.

Plus one, and I'll add Fenris, Sebastian and Hawke's brother... Fenris is an annoying jerk"kill mages, mages need to die, I hate mages" "Oh... And did I mention how much mages are dangerous aaaand... They need to die"all the time. Sebastian is as much fun to talk as a rock is, he has absolutely nothing interesting to talk about other than his vows to the Chantry(I think he should stop hiding behind the old lady in chantry and, 1- go get some at the blooming rose, 2- or get out of the closet) the way he talks, the 2nd is more like it. Hawke's brother is annoying as hell with all his bullcrap talk of how "he's always in Hawke's shadow", I wish I had the option to beat the crap out of him than tell him: You want to be someone, than stop crying like a little girl and for God's sake top stepping on every trap you find. I lost count of how many times Isabela or Varric tells the party to watch our step, Carver as usual, is always the one to go straight to trigger it, even the dog is smarter... I lost so many XP because of him I decided to just leave him at home to clean the house instead. Plus I hate him because Bethany had to die for him to live.MetalFang wrote...
Mine have to be Anders. Not only is he a over sensitive queer(he get all upset when I told him I am straight), he is a freaking terrorist! Oh and also he can't stop going around bad mouthing your others companions so when the option to kill him came out I never give it a second thoughts. OHHHH YEAAAA !!! KILL THAT SOB!!!! YES!!!!

Anders-I like that he is willing to stand up to the templars for the mages, I don't like what Justice has done to him. And I really don't like him never shutting up about what mages go through. Lighten up dude. Go argue with Oghren about something again. Or at least argue with anyone over something that doesn't involve magic or templars. Oh, and don't blow up buildings full of innocent people, simply because of what the building symbolizes.

But Isabela is so nice. Have my Hawke goes to the hang man and say to her: We need to talk... NOW (and her expression) never gets old lol. Or when your Hawke tells her: "Oh... nice to you here, in this ever changing world" and her response is awesome... The best part is when she's talking to Bethany...Annie_Dear wrote...
I love them all. I'm not joking.
Though Isabella annoys me by never staying by my side towards the end, but that's mostly my fault...

Fenris: Basically opposite of Anders when it comes to mages.
Carver: He's just...a ****** with a major inferiority complex.
Other than that the only other person I slightly dislike is Merrill. Sometimes I can't take her seriously due to her child-like mentality and the fact that she is foolish enough to make deals with demons.

Anders let a spirit/demon possess him and then blew up the chantry!
In my opinion, Fenris was one of the only smart ones that guess correctly what they were. In pretty much every case, the mages turned to blood magic. I do believe it's a bit of a bias on his part obviously, but that's probably because, you know... he was tortured by mages in the Imperium.
And to those complaining about Anders and Fenris talking about this issue too much - It's what the whole game is leading to, thus pretty important convos.
Fenris has to repeatedly say mages are dangerous... because they are! Also because a large portion of the quests are mage related, thus those with strong opinions on the subject are going to say something. (Mages, and those who hate them.)

I think if your Hawke is cranky(evil/renegade) enough, your party members has at least respect him. In the third act I heard Fenris talking to Sebastian about mages when Fenris asked him: How about Hawke's companions, there are mages too, do you want to talk to him about them. If you do you're on your own. (was something like that) Sebastian reply was something like: Oh I was just saying... Fenris was: Yeah... good luck with that or good luck talking to Hawke.dragonflight288 wrote...
I don't really HATE any of the companions, but I do strongly dislike certain things about them. Fenris-I can understand his lack of trust for mages. I get it. I understand why he hates them. But does he seriously have to rip apart every mage in the party at all times? Can't he be sympathetic to the fact that many of them don't even want to rule anything, just want the same rights as others. But he has to rip everyone who is a mage at all times.
Anders-I like that he is willing to stand up to the templars for the mages, I don't like what Justice has done to him. And I really don't like him never shutting up about what mages go through. I love it when Anders and Fenris discuss their mutual dislike for one another.
I'm teatering with Anders. I never played Awakenings so I don't know what he was like before. Some of the things he says I find dickish, but he seems to like my Rogue. It was quite amusing when he found out Bethany had never been in the circle. I think he was very jealous.
I like Aveline, but it is annoying when she gets huffy everytime my rogue does something shady. LOL thank BW for the rivalry system instead of simply "i hate you and everything you stand for, don't talk to me" system.
Just like DA:O or any game really I don't 'hate' any of my companions. Some I might dislike more than others, but I always try and get to know them all as much as possible to really see their point of view and obvious RPing different types of characters means you get different reactions out of them which can change your whole outlook on them as individuals.

So I honestly don't hate any of the characters.
Though if I had to pick one, it would be Carver! He annoyed me the most. However, I had a better opinion of Carver (through dialogue) after he sided with me as a templar and Grey Warden (in two different playthroughs). I never developed a fond opinion of Aveline but I don't dislike her.

Though it was funny to listen to his banter, especially with Fenris. Especially after Fenris walked out on my Mage Fem!Hawke.
I liked Awakenings Anders more. I want him back.

Nice. I haven't tried playing aggresive yet. I've played more along the lines of a sarcastic, somewhat care-free Hawke who constantly makes jokes. My companions usually start talking about how Hawke can' take anything seriously or hold anything sacred.

I liked the others, even Justice. He never wanted to be a demon, but because of Anders he became one... And ended up killing innocent people like a terrorist. And seeing Anders go mad was really sad as well. I really hope there will be a DLC where we can help them both, they deserve it.

I usually create one character to represent myself as a cool guy, then two to represent both of my sisters and I usually have them being evil as hell lol... The female voice acting for Shep is awesome, specially if renegade. In DA2 the female voice acting sounds more of a 13 year old but playing a little evil make it sound better, I would have loved if they had Claudia Black for the fem Hawke's voice.dragonflight288 wrote...

Sebastian: "We will have a chaste marriage in the eyes of the maker! Nothing will come between us."
Especially your penis.
And then he gave me 15 galleons.
I felt so confused.

Merrill. I just thought she was this weird, naive little girl and I felt somewhat endeared towards her. Kind of like a big sister. Except she hated everything I told her. Like a big sister, I suppose. Then I took her on her quest in Act 3, killed the Keeper. Came out of the mountain, reeling from the sadness and shock of killing the Keeper. Then I chose a dialog option that caused the clan to attack me. After I slaughtered the entire clan, I was so angry with Merrill! Her stupidity caused me to kill her clan on her behalf! I reloaded the game, and chose another option that didn't cause the clan to attack me. I still hold a grudge against Merrill, have 100% rivalry with her, and refuse to invite her to any of my parties.
She is my favorite character and I took her down the rivalry path as well. I saw where she was coming from but her obsession with that mirror was too much, and it had to be destroyed for her on good. Plus it wasn't her fault that the keeper and clan died. She said she would take full responsibility for her actions. It's the keepers fault for interfering.
As for the OP question, Isabella she is just a selfish, coniving, b****.

At the moment it's Merril, some people find the whole rambly/timid thing cute and endearing I find it tiresome. Also her complete denial about what she is. I wouldn't mind so much if she would just own it like Anders does.
Eh? She does even moreso than Anders. She states she knows that there is no such thing as good spirits and she wishes Anders knew that.
