It's not about me liking him. It's about the fact that I just don't understand how anyone can see him as boring no matter how much they might hate him and never be planning on using him ever again.fchopin wrote...

You know, I have never heard this complaint about Anders before. Is the fact he's possessed by a vengeful spirit-turned-demon who is slowly driving him insane and who is obsessed with freeing mages at all costs before sparking off a revolution that spreads throughout Thedas really dull? It's many things, I know, but boring?fchopin wrote...
Anders
Who created this boring character, i would pay for a mod to get him out of the game.
Sorry if you like the guy but he is not only boring but also a hypocrite and a liar, the only reason i used him in my first game was because my sister died so i had to use another mage.
I will not be using him in any of my DA2 games again.

Every time you speak with him i find anything he says boring. Maybe it's the voice actor i find boring but that is the effect it has on me.
What do you find so inspiring in what he says?

Isabela at first I hated but now I know how wrong I was. She's pretty hilarious.

I may have hated Isabela, though. I never had her in my party. I was really disappointed by how Bioware was always going on about her being such a great, in-depth character and how she just ended up being what I thought she would be: a skank who only cares about herself. Yea, sure. Let a whole city die because you're a greedy ****. Only gain a decent amount of friendship with me if I flirt with you (at least she wasn't offended when I turned her down for sex). For the first time, I really didn't care when a character left my party permanently. I would love some DLC where I could hunt her down myself.

Regardless of what I happen to think about him, I think the fact that he's possessed by a vengeful spirit-turned-demon who is slowly driving him insane and who is obsessed with freeing mages at all costs before sparking off a revolution that spreads throughout Thedas is interesting and I haven't seen anyone else (no matter how much they hate him) find him boring. It's just surprising that you do.fchopin wrote...

I thought I'd hate Fenris at first, but after pursuing his friendship I actually like the guy. The fact that he was able to put aside his universal hate for magic and call me the finest mage he'd ever known, that was something.
Isabela never grew on me. I pretty much hated her after my first game, but I never used her in my party, so I have her a chance and tried to make her a permanent member in my second game and get a better understanding of her character. But, nope. Still hate her guts. I almost want to start again and get her friendship maxed just so I can hand her over to the Arishok.

Dear Anders: just because I helped some mages does not mean I have to blindly agree with everything you espouse or ask me to do, especially after your information turned out to be incorrect; conversely, just because I helped some templars doesn't mean I am a horrible oppressor who wants to see all mages miserable forever. Love, Hawke.

Fenris (I like the guy but he irritates the hell out of me) . Yes it's so nice to call a young distraut woman a monster after seeing her friend die in front of her. Ugh. You ****.
Bet you don't consider your precious sister a monster (until she betrays you).
Justice I can't stand. And it's not even the old Justice it's some new uptight ****** without any of Justice's d'awww moments. Bleh.
Isabela. I just can't stand her. Gee thanks for selling me out to save your own hide. have fun doing that on your own next time!

I bet he doesn't consider her anything since he can barely remember her. Is he even aware she's a mage until they meet again?Bet you don't consider your precious sister a monster (until she betrays you).

He knew she was a tailor and whatnot. Description, they spent a time writing to one another and he had people watching her apparently.
Plus any mage going to Kirkwall would probably need to be watched carefully to make surethey're not caught by the Templars.
It always bothers me that mages can sense magic in one another (or at least Anders can) but Templars can't. You'd think that would be a useful skill to have for mage hunters.

OK I'll be the first one to say her I really didn't like Isabella -.- Seriously every time I had to talk to her I just thought 'oh yeah you were kind of funny in Origins but now your just a skank that is here all the time.' I had her in the middle of the friendship/rivalry bar and I don't know if my game glitched or what but she stayed whole game and didn't even run off with the book -.-
I completely agree!

I'd also like to add that Aveline causes more trouble for me then Isabella ever did. Aveline kills your mom and you're not allowed to tell her the truth that she is a ****ty guard captain.
Actually you callher out on that.
After your mother dies talk to Aveline. I believe the aggressive option has you yell at her for being ****ty at her job and causing your mother to die.

I did that and wasn't satisfied with what happened. After my character called her out nothing happened, she still pretended like it wasn't her fault and I don't get to boot her from my party or attack her or anything to let her know how I feel about her getting my mother killed because she wasn't doing her job.

It wasn't completely her fault though.
But just don't use her. If you have her at less than 100 friendship/rivalry I believe you cankill her later if you side with the mages.

Wait, how did Aveline kill Hawke's mom?
She didn't. Hawke can act like she did though.
