Tbh the Zevran flirt thing doesn't feel like that much of a deal -- in the sense it's rather plausible, given it's 5+ years since DAO + Awakening happen, and the Warden has apparently gone missing on top of that, going by the DA2 ending.
If anything it's more surprising that missing bit isn't acknowledged in married Alistair's cameo.
I disagree with this strongly. In Zevran's love story, he changes and equates sex and love instead of it just being about pleasure. He requires a commitment from the warden before he will have sex with him/her after he falls in love. In his US slide, he can't bring himself to be with anyone again.
If you don't romance him, his cameo makes perfect sense. But if you do, it's really jarring as there is no indication that he would change back to the way he was before he fell in love. And this is reinforced by the lines in the talktable that were supposed to trigger but do not.
In fact, fixing the import flags, you at least have him rejecting Isabela (though thinking the warden was dead, and he still responds to Hawke's flirting which is is not supposed to do). But that he does say to Isabela that the loss is still too fresh (6 years later) further reinforces that he changed -- sex is, for him, not just about pleasure.
Edit: The main point is, however, that his cameo, IF in love, he's supposed to be faithful to the warden. These lines are not triggering. It would be nice to have his story concluded the way it's meant to be concluded, and not messed up because of bugs.
Zevran not acknowledging his romance is JUST as disappointing to Zevran fans as Alistair's not acknowledging his is to his fans and Leliana to her fans. Our romances all had a conclusion, and since obviously Zevran is meant to be faithful to the warden, it would be nice if the bugs were fixed so we actually get those lines.
The reason I think Zevran's lines are worse is you get to watch your warden's LI cheat. Then again, I suppose having alistair just consider the warden a friend instead of his love would be upsetting. I just don't see that as bad, but I'm not an Alistair fangirl so that could be it.
