Don't get me wrong, i don't have a problem with adding gay relationships to the game. I found being hit on mildly amusing. However, i don't know if it's just the character i chose, a male mage, or what - but i've had 2 guys hitting on me and one offering me his services... and no female relationships. The only females i have encountered so far are my dead sister, my mother, a woman whose husband just died, a bar wench who isn't putting out and starving elf who doesn't understand sarcasm.

I think they may have gone a bit too far with the gay content when it's the only option presenting itself.

I'm just entering act 3 so maybe things open up a bit.

I don't remember getting hit on except in my first game play when I clicked on a Heart with Anders. The response my character made had me double check look up of  the icons. So later he did kind of make a hit on statement that I just cut him off. Fenris calling you "Someone so capable" is not a flirt. He was giving a compliment to how easily you destroyed everything in your path. You have to intiate everything with Fenris just like with Merrill. If you don't flirt with them they won't come at you. Izzy may flirt play fully I can't remember.

The only guy that does tease without the player initiating is jethann but you're in a Brothel. You know that  is the characters job. Let it go. There is Zevran to of sorts but he is realy focused on Isabela and I woudln't read much into any of it.

Try the rivalmances with the guys, they're rocky but actually very rewarding..ish

Looks like i'll have opportunity to get know Fenris with a rivalmance since my brother was getting annoying and has left to join the templars. I don't really have a need for Merril or Isabella since i'm the mage and i have varric for my rogue.

Don't get me wrong. I would have prefered if there was say 3 females since there are 3 guys of sorts. But it is the player that initiates the events you are talking about. That is what the get over it thing is. If you wouldn't want the interaction? Then don't force it. If you don't like the girls? Then don't force them either. It's not required that Hawke sleep with anyone. Just imagine that occasinally your Hawke went to the Brothel over the years. Then promptly would go to Anders' clinic for a STD cleanse.

I don't really care. Seriously, it's a game, it's a romance in a game. Wow, totally a big deal. No, not really. I don't need to have any romance in the game at all. It's fun to go with them at times, and sometimes I don't bother with them.

I'm not going to comment on Twilight having any good written romances. It's like commenting on "Mein Kampf" having good grammar (which, for all those who've never read this POS in German, it clearly doesn't.)

And what the heck is a "rivalmance"? It's a rivalry.

Revilry is outside of the relationships yes. When people talk Revilmance it's how interactions are different than the frienship romance. Friendmance/Rivalmance. Saves them a few letter keys.

Well all your points are valid. Including the guy wasting space telling us he's sick of reading about it. My point is that it's just a bit much and i'm afraid i don't think i'll be changing my mind on it.

If i see a gay dating commercial on tv i ignore it or turn the channel. If i see 3 gay commercials in a row i begin to wonder what channel i'm watching and may avoid that channel in the future.

Out of the 4 guys i could have in my party 2 of them are gay, one is my brother and the other appears to be straight, although that crossbow... So that's 2 out of 3 guys, who i am not related to, are gay and open to relationships with me.

I'm glad some of it is in the game, i like to think i'm open minded and respectful of other people's life choices but i think the would have dialed it back a hair if i was on staff.

of course i loved both fen and anders as straight romances, but maybe the guys who didn't like either would have liked a romance like the one i posted?
