I've just finished installing NWN2 and its expansions on my brand new Windows 7 system but I don't fully understand what I need to do next to make sure it runs properly on my system, despite reading other threads on the subject. For example, how do I install DirectX 9.0c to run alongside DirectX 11 (my current version), and how do I install the required drivers?
Please advise. My pc is running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and has a NVidia GeForce GT340 graphics card.

DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer
That should work, read it yourself tho. Also, you'll need .Net 2.0 (maybe 3.5 is better, idk) to get the Toolset. oh, never heard of any issues regarding dx9 <--> dx11 just chuck Dx9 in and it's all good
the newest drivers from nVidia should work fine.

DX9c works fully alongside DX11 on W7 32 & 64 bit, you should install it with NWN2, my toolset doesn't work without it at least.
Windows 7 comes with net 3.5 or 4 (can't remember) by default (or by windows update with important updates), you don't need to be installing it separately.
I'm on 64 bit 7 as well.

First suggestion is give it a whirl. A larger number of Win7 folks are having success more often than not simply by installing and playing.
1) If you have issues, install DX9, then try again.
2) If it looks like you have weird graphics glitches, either (and I recommend being ABLE to do both) rollback to a previous graphics driver or update to a new one.
3) Toolset only: if it doesn't work, try installing the .net framework (I know you have it already, but sometimes, it seems that the attempt to install it makes all the proper features work for the Toolset. That's anecdotal, but worth a shot.)
4) If problems persist, come here and ask more questions.
welcome to the madness of NWN2.

So far, I haven't installed any extra drivers and my play-tests of NWN2 have been fine. I've even gone back to the Weeping Willow (where there have been known issues with inverted colours) and all is ok.
Here's hoping for many more blissful years in Faerun
