 I have just encountered a rather puzziling problem. It would seem that the tactics menu for my party no longer works. If I got into the tactics screen I can pick from only two preset tactics options (such as Scrapper and Controller) and sometimes Custom if I am lucky. This is becoming a bit of a problem since I have characters stuck on tactics that are utterly useless for them. Has anybody else encountered this problem? I think it might be patch related since I beat the game on version 1.00 and never had this problem.

I thought I was imagining things until I finally found this post on page 6 of the support forum.

Having the exact same problem but not with all characters, especially Anders seems to suffer from this. Other companions might also have it but I rarely switch their tactics.

Sometimes it's just screwy. Try switching the top one (tank, aggressive, etc.) around and then see if you can change the lower one (scrapper, controller, etc.). When it didn't let me move around between more than 2 of the lower ones I'd mess with the upper ones, switch between characters' tactics menus, and close the menu. Usually some combination of messing around like that would let me do what I wanted.

I have noticed that setting a tactic to use an item, like a health potion, will sometimes disappear and not work. Not sure why.

I have also noticed that tactics often do not save when I try and set allies to use potions for health, mana and stamina. Sometimes they save for several hours game time before either clearing or getting swapped around so it try's to use mana potions instead of health ones.

I have also noticed the problem with the Tactics presets disappearing on some of my companions and my own PC as well

Items designated for use are not saved until you exit the tactics screen.  If you shuffle tactics order (drag something earlier in the sequence) before exiting tactics, the item will be 'forgotten' once you leave the screen.

If you switch to another character's tactics screen, before exiting tactics completely the item will be forgotten.

The only way to be sure an item is saved for use is to exit a character's tactics screen once, after setting the item. Then return to that persons tactics and set it again (99/100 its gone missing).
