You cant do it if you lose Isabela, only place to get Ambrosia is in Isabela's quest in Act 3.

Yup, used it on my rogue. Save it for after you've done every quest but the last one because it gives you a full level of XP. Using it at higher levels = more total XP gained.

If I complete Isabela's quest in Act 3, do I have to add her to the party? I understand that adding her could result in a bug that slows Hawke down.
She is in friendship status, but I have never added her to the party because I was worried about the bug, even when completing her quest in Act 2.
