So I spoke to Ashley and she asked me something about Liara, in a jealous kind of way, and I accidently clicked the wrong answer (I want to romance Ashley.) So I reloaded and just by chance went to speak to Liara first and I told her I thought Ashley was special or somethign along those lines. Then when I went to speak to Ashley she didn't say the jealous thing.

Is the romance still moving along and that part of the conversation didn't happen because I rejected Liara allready or did I mess it up somehow?

Sorry Casanova, I didn't realise a question about game mechanics had to do with my ability (or lack of) to talk to women.

You obviously don't know how the minds of women work, if you talk to another chick, your girl is not gonna like it.

To answer your question, you should be fine with Ash.

Just continue speaking with Ash on a regular basis, the poetry stuff got a tad silly for me, but she does have interesting conversations.

Even if she questions you about Liara there will come a time where you can definitively choose to lock in your romance with either of them. You will know when it happens.

Once you turn Liara down, the romance with Ash appears automatic....I didn't want to romance either of them and found further conversations with Ash only offered romance option replies, no options to say 'no' to her, so had to reload my last save and just not speak with her anymore.

How exactly do you manage to not romance Ashley? I always have to Virmire her.

I have no idea about that one, though I was suspicious that though I didn't romance Ash, the game may default to a romance with her anyway, so Virmired her myself.

At the very beginning of the game, when she expresses concern over the alien crewmembers, tell her 'That's out of line!'.

You basically break all of her future conversations, however, you won't end up romancing her. It is much less extreme then Virmire.

OP - Romances are not 'locked in' until a specific dialogue options, as I recall, after two main story missions. So, if you did therum 1st, feros 2nd, then after Feros, Ashley's romance dialogue will come up.

If you are talking to Liara, then make sure you choose 'I just want to be friends' when it comes up.

For those accidentally triggering the Ash romance, the flag to avoid romance is easy to miss. When she first askes about "Aliens being on board" you have to pick the option on the left side of the wheel ("You're out of line.") to effectively avoid romancing her.

If you are being "friendly" with Liara as well isn't there an option to say "I'm not interested in you." That probably should end the romance, I clicked on the netural response once that sounded like it ended the romance but apparently it didn't becauese she showed up later in the love triangle decision sequence even after I told her we were getting too friendly for the Alliance's regulations.

on Horzion she is upset. but in time she sends you a email about sorry and don't die and come back.
