Sorry i this question have been posted but i can find it.

 I'm on the quest looking for Branka I found her journal and it she found a way to the dead trenches through the Caridin's Cross that I need to follow this trail but when i get to the travel map there no dead trenches spot i looked all over the place even want back to Aeducan and Ortan Thaig and there no way for me to get there, is this a bug or am i missing a sumthing else??

It is in the room where the brooding mother is. Follow the voice, it'll lead you. So far this was my toughest battle. Then there is an entrance there which can lead you directly to the anvil.

The whole broodmother thing is easily the creepiest part of the game.

I believe Branka is creepier. But the two are linked in their unease. She is so sick. ('I know what they'll become. An endless supply of darkspawn to test the traps with.")

Guys, he hasn't even reached the Dead Trenches. I know it's a spoiler forum, but let's contain ourselves.

Right by the journal is an exit. Did you use that to exit the map or hoof it back to the entrence? Also, have you discovered both the eastern and western exits for Caridin's Cross?

'I thought he got to the dead trenches which is not where the journal is. The journal is at the map before the treches. So he already met the legion of the death. Probably he missed the entrance in the wall that is somewhat red in color, through there you go forward.

If you already found it and followed the voice then you have to find a main monster. If you did that too then you search in the room she died at and try to find an exit from there.

I had the exact same problem and lost a lot of time because of it. The exit is right behind the place where you found the journal actually...

I am struggling with this. I cannot find Ortan Thaig at all, so I haven't even got as far as this guy.

Have you actually got the quest and been given the Map from whoever Lord your helping?[Paragon of her Kind and Anvil of the Voide quests].

Soon as Orghen joins and you enter the Deep Roads, it should be marked on the Underground map.

I have been to Lord Harrowmont and got the quests. I don't have Orghen with me, I didn't know you had to. And I don't have Ortan Thaig on my map. I just have Aeducan Thaig.

okay - I have not found Branka's journal, nor the brooding mother (?), not anyway past Caridins Cross - I have Ohgren with me but he doesn't seem to be a big help - cranky

go past Caridin's Cross into Ortan Thaig. Oghren will say a dialogue something like "This is the way to Ortan Thaig" as you approach the exit to the next area. The new areas will NOT be highlighted until you reach the exit from the area you are exploring.

The exit from Caridins to Ortan was in lower right map on the road IIRC,
it is not entirely clear which exit leads to next area

Thankyou - perhaps what I should have said tho is that I can't find my way out of Caridins Cross, let alone get on the road to Ortans thaig and I can't find any marking that indicates which road I'm on

Here is a map of Caridin's Cross. The exit you need to proceed is the bottom one. Ortan Thaig will only become visible in the Deep Roads map when you use that one. Otherwise you could just come in through the upper entrance and immediately exit via the same one, bypassing CC entirely.

 Hi, I am on the quest "A paragon of her kind". I got to the killed the corrupt Queen Spider, Ohgren is in my party but I can't activate Branka'a Diary. Is there a way to fix this?

If you have a save near that point, maybe try reloading. I find the deep roads pretty laggy and sometimes reloading helps.
