I just realized I have the Lothering's Lament and a couple of other tomes unlocked but I can't find them anywhere. (I'm in Act 2 right now)
I also came across a tome in the game (which upon picking up, you fight the Desire Demon)....but for some reason, it always ends up in my junk. How do I use it?
How do I read the tomes?

They are located in a chest in Gamlens house called special deliveries. They reward you with stuff on pick up. I've never waited until I'm in the mansion but I suspect the chest is available there as well. It's a small golden chest.

Yeah, I do remember there being a chest in Gamlen's house and I already picked up the weapon that was unlocked (Hayden's Razor) but I'm pretty sure I didn't find any of the tomes in there.
Also, I have another question. You know the books you find in one of the sidequests? And which you get three options to either, "Destroy" , "Read" or "Take" the book.... what's the difference between "Read" and "Take". I just tested both options and it turns out that reading awards me with attribute points but "taking" the book does nothing, and just places it under Junk.

The tomes are located in the very same chest. It's possible you picked them up at the same time without noticing, as they are used on pick up. There should be a codex entry about them under premium content if you have. Try checking there.
The books are part of a collection quest. You can either destroy them straight away, or collect them all and I presume turn them into someone else for a reward. I never did the whole thing. You can read one of the books for a +2 stat bonus in return for leaving it alone. It still starts the quest to collect the other books though.

Ah, I see. I didn't know they were used upon pickup.
Thank you!

If you destroy them all you get access to the sixth book and a boss fight.
