The "mute" Warden or Hawke, which one did you feel was more "your character"?

What the topic says. You know, it's a RPG after all. Made this thread to know everyone's opinions, and to debate whether we should have VO or no VO/preset character or self-made/ dialogue wheel or tree in the future.

Edit:To add discussion value, as a side note:

Would you give up the wheel and Voiced main character to regain the dialogue tree and the amount of dialogue choices it offered?

More:
And another question:
Do you prefer the more roleplayish, traditional- approach Origins had going on, or the cinematic and modern approach Dragon Age 2 took? If you can, explain why.

The Warden obviously, I was free to characterise him/her how I wanted.

I could go either way really. Both have advantages. I however wouldn't say no to more Origin stories, which would probably fall under the silent protagonist, especially since I have the Mass Effect series if I need voice-acting.

Warden was more... mine. But I've got to give preference to my lady hawke. Voice over and facial emotions worked great for me.

Warden. No competition.

I could deal with not feeling I'm playing "my character" if Hawke was as awesome as Shepard.
But he/she is bland, boring and acts nonsensical 80% of the time. To me anyway.

The Warden by a very little bit.
You could roleplay as anyone in Origins as long as you were a gray warden, in 2 you are the champion and you either support templars or mages.
Example I had my mage warden be a magnificent bastard that somehow had the knowledge of everything that will happen being a third playthrough. He committed atrocities with the minimal punishment and backstabbed his way to the top. Hawke goes through the same things and falls for the same things no matter what.

The Warden, because I could imagine how he felt or talked. He was mine..

In DA2 they decide how Hawke shall react by his VA. Hawke didn't feel like my character when I played. I used Merrill more than Hawke in my gameplay since I liked her more than Hawke. She was the only one with personality and depth.

Warden feels like mine. Hawke feels like a premade action hero of sorts.

Warden

When it comes to RPGs the less control the writers have over the character, the more you can make it your own.

Got 6 of them, and each is different primarily based on how the Origin story worked out for them.

Well the answer I like my Warden more coz, well she was hotter, more cute, Queen! and dated Lelianna =) But none of these has anything to do with being mute or not ... and im pretty sure if the exact lines from Warden were just voiced, my decision would not change ...

 Hawke, hands down.

The story was much more personnal and i felt a real connection to him. I like The Warden but he just felt... empty.

The game immersion is 10x more when there isn't a foreign voice saying things for you- things that weren't accurately represented by the dialog wheel paraphrase in the first place. So yeah, Warden was far more "me" than Hawke will ever be.

The mute warden, if you play with your charecter, you play a true...., if you play with a mute character you get many more options...dialogue... Voice equal limited.

Yeah when you're looking at immersion, I've always found mutes superior to voiced PCs.

Warden. However not by as much as I would have thought. Just so happens the voice went really well with how my character ended up looking. Still. With the Warden I felt more in control.

Hawke, voice acting made it better, same for Isaac Clarke in Dead Space 2.

Keep the voicing, Fem hawke is great and so is Male hawke. Just more dialogue please i beg you! More dialogue options can help people determine their character their more.

Warden, all the way. Especially with the silent voiceset mod. You can add shades of meaning to what you say, rather than just listening to some Bioware character. It's amazing what it can do to replayability, since the same sentence can mean different things when said by two different Wardens.

Voiced PCs in RPG's like Dragon Age and Mass Effect just feel like a half measure between true RPG player characters and set protagonists from adventure games, like Ezio or the guy from Uncharted.

Plus, more lines can be given to the NPC's. Think of how much more character development could have been fit into DA2 if Hawke didn't have a voice.

This as well.

Ehh... I don't know if I would say HALF measure but it's definitely a step in that direction.

Wardens for sure - they all had my voice, and even though my accent is mildly close to the female Hawkes, still...
