The "mute" Warden or Hawke, which one did you feel was more "your character"?

That said, i prefer the more traditional RPG of Origins and the fact you could be something other than human, which is lost in making Hawke a voiced character, so it's very much 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.

I mean, seriously? A sarcastically glib response to Gamlen when he asked if a certain killer is dead? I sure as hell wouldn't be smiling and cracking jokes about anything following that chain of events.

The Warden. Fact. There is no room for opinion.
The very storyline of DA2 forces you to do things which defeats the illusion of being your own man. For instance, if you're pro templar you have to help Anders anyway.
How is that any different than the same linear formula being used in DAO? You still had to do all the main plot quests in that game. Again, the choices one makes during the quests have little to no effect on the overall story.
Plus, stating your opinion as fact, with no room for discussion, makes me not want to ever listen to your point of view. Ever. Now, that's a fact.
World Ending. That's the difference. And even then you had more room to make your own character.
Vs
I want to go treasure hunting. Killing templars, killing mercenaries who did nothing to me if I want to get a character. There is simply no cjoices. No alternatives, where Origins had alternatives. Image if you were forced to side with the Templars in Origins, forced to side with Branka, forced to do the Dark ritual, forced to side with zathrian, etc. That's how DA2 feels most of the time.
P.S. I could care less if you want to listen to my point. Facts are facts. Deal with it.
World never ends unless you wipe.
You opinion still isn't fact.
I'll take that pathetic response as you're admitting I'm right and you're wrong.
Electing a dwarf king to get an army because if you don't the blight could destroy everything you know and love, but having a choice on who will be king, and rather or not you'll have golems or not. Are you a progressive or traditionalist?
Vs
I want to get rich. I think it's a bad idea to kill templars. I actually agree with their necessity, but Anders has the map and I wanna go treasure hunting. Really, no alternate path? So Hawke is anti templar by default?
Yeah, I wouldn't bother trying to defend your position either considering the facts are against you.

Avoiding making assumptions about the impact of an event in DAO does not equal ignorance.
As far as nagging goes, I'm not sure how you consider objective statements nagging, but whatever. /shrug
and I thought after a few hours I would see some posts that supported the notion that most decisions with multiple branches in DAO had win-win outcomes.
Hey, but less keep dryhumping the fact that the future of the bastard Archdemon soul child is unknown enough not to be considered bad outright.

Like Shepard too... but neither of them is "me". I control them, i'm not them (as with most game characters, as it should be)
As for Warden (and Revan from KOTOR/Jedi Exile from KOTOR2 (not BW but anyway))... I sure as hell didn't feel him/her as my character either. Pretty much total lack of connection. Too limited dialogue and options, forced to be a hero and be part of some special organization...
Frankly, the Warden (and Revan/JE) feel like "faceless" PCs, like The Master Chief/Rookie/Noble Six from Halo, Gordon Freeman from Half Life (he has face but doesn't speak) and i don't like that faceless protagonist thing AT ALL. Only games where it works are the Elder Scrolls for some reason... Don't ask.

I liked customization of the warden. I enjoyed Hawke more as far as building my character around story wise. I liked having a voice more.GRX Dragon wrote...
If DA2 had better character customization rather than the restrictive bull****, I'd vote for Hawke. But since it didn't and won't, Warden gets my vote.

What the topic says. You know, it's a RPG after all. Made this thread to know everyone's opinions, and to debate whether we should have VO or no VO/preset character or self-made/ dialogue wheel or tree in the future.
Edit:To add discussion value, as a side note:
Would you give up the wheel and Voiced main character to regain the dialogue tree and the amount of dialogue choices it offered?
More:
And another question:
Do you prefer the more roleplayish, traditional- approach Origins had going on, or the cinematic and modern approach Dragon Age 2 took? If you can, explain why.
The Warden definitely felt more like my own character than Hawke does.
Would I switch the wheel for the dialog tree? That depends... for a game like DA II the wheel may be the better choice.
I do prefer the more traditional approach of Origins, though I'm certainly biased as I don't think voice acting is really needed to make a good game. Voice acting can actually detract from a game if it's badly done or the voice is annoying.
