I cleared out the groups in all 5 places and went to see Sketch in the Docks at night but got no response or reward. Any suggestions?

I guess no one has done this quest or had this problem. But thanks for reading it anyway.

The quest just appeared in my quest list, but I don't remember talking with anyone about it.

This has happened with a lot of the DA2 side quests. Kind of ruins the atmosphere when I am completing all these quests without first being asked by someone.

It is a known bug - you should get his staff, but the quest is never marked complete.

you should have gotten a staff from him. I suggest posting this in the Tech-Support.
However, right now there is a bug that prevents this Quest from being completed in the Journal

Thanks for the info............It never said I completed it until I got to Act 3...............must be a bug.

This quest is very buggy, I've only ever gotten 2 encounters from it after looking for what seems like hours.  Never got any items either

I'm pretty sure this quest originate from the Chanters Board at the Chantry in Act 2.  You have to read the posting and accept it.  That's where I found it on 2 different games anyway.

Yep, I got that bug too. I'm glad the game wipes away all your quests before jumping acts, cause it would've been annoying having that quest stuck in my quest log with no way of completing it.

It starts from the Chantry board in Hightown (act 2) IF you turned the blood mages over to the templars in the 'Act of Mercy' quest in act 1. If you fought the templars then you get quests from Selby's board at the docks.

I had allowed the mages in Act of Mercy run away and covered for them, yet the quest was started from the Chantry board.

I got both quests from Selby's board AND Sketch... (I tricked the templars with Varic in Act of Mercy)

Also, The quest updated saying i had gotten rid of all of the assassins (instead of "go find sketch"), I got his staff, and Sketch and Hawke said a few lines.
Hawke: you have lots of enemies
Sketch: stay away from storytellers, you never know what they will say.

However quest did not become "completed"

This is what I get. He rewards me, gives a few lines of dialogue but doesn't clear the quest from the journal. As I've always got the reward I've never really worried about it.

I should have paid more attention but there was a quest I completed last night, they said thanks but I got no items, gold nor XP. I'll try to find it again.

I got this quest from the Chanter's board, and I also killed the Templars and told the Apostates to run- so I also got the Mistress Selby line. Is that not supposed to happen?

you get hunt the apostates and sketch from the chantry board if you side more with templars, vist mistress selby is a letter and sketch from the chantry board if you side more with mages

I got both. That isn't meant to happen? That may explain why I couldn't find all of the assasins after him depite searching the whole map.

I got both too, but for some reason this was the only quest I couldn't be bothered to do in the playthrough I got it, so I can't comment on how it works.
