1) Is it actually physically possible to have Dynaheir AND edwin in the same party... i only ask because i literally just booted edwin and picked up dynaheir, then picked up dynaheir and there hasnt been a clash instantly. I hope this is an unfixed glitch, cos edwin is my face evil mage, and dynaheir is my fave good mage - very oddly my party has atm 4 pure class mages Mwahahaha! Im asking to die easy, being level one mages we all die in one hits.

2) Is she really voiced by Jennifer hale? Same as Mazzy?
Voice of Fem shepard?

Don't know about 2, but as regards 1, I believe they will start fighting after a bit. Also, don't underestimate the power of the mage! OK, BG is geared up for ranged fighters, then melee, then mages, but once you've gotten a few levels you start packing a hell of a punch, even if you do have to rest more often. It helps if you get to L3+ before picking the others up, though, because mages take a long time to level and the XP is worth it.

That's the only down part... the mass XP needed to level:

So far my party is:
Elf Female LE Enchanter 1
Kagain (Dwarf LE Fighter 2)
Montaren (Halflin NE Fighter 1 Thief 1)
Xzar (Human CE Necromancer 1)
Edwin (Human LE Conjurer 1)
Dynaheir (Human LG Invoker 1)

So pretty much evil atm with reputation 12.... im gonna kill someone so i drop to like 7 or 8, then i can then easily keep it so nobody hates me and i can raise my reputation so that i can get good shop bonuses, on my other good playthrough, i only did enough to get my rep from 11 to 21 (20 is cap, but 21 is just to compare how many rep points i got in total)

Im thinking of killing that one in nashkel carnival with the beholder on top the chest... just to see what he has XD

I mean to replace someone with Viconia, and then maybe Montaron with Tiax (idk who to replace Xzar in that case - unless montaren dies)

I read abotu the jennifer hale thing from some page i was looking at in a search for the Edwin/dynaheir answer, ssaying Jennifer hale voiced her, as well as Shar-Teel it seems O_o
Reminds me i might replace kagain with Teel, since he has Khalid's moral *facepalm*

Evil crisis lol. my characters are mostly rubbish at range - curse Edwin, kagain and xzar's low dex.

Ive given most of them throwing dagger - which run out like so fast.

edit: oh im so naught on character creation though... my mages stats are:

Str 8
Dex 19
Con 8
Int 18
Wis 18
Cha 18

Way over powered, i was considering gate keepering to C/M but with the 3 skill books out there, that would just be taking the aganazzar's scorcher of it.

2) yes, she is.

Some advice for your party: If you haven't done it already, give the gauntlets of dexterity to Kagain (so he'll become the best tank in the game, and also good with ranged weapons). Also, throwing daggers are inferior to darts - because you get 3 APR with darts, which is actually really powerful.

Yeah, gave him the gloves, now he's much better as a tank and much better with those throwing axes.

Main problem with the mages is that Xzar and my protagonist have dagger proficiency and edwin has blunt proficiency.

I may give Dynaheir the darts though sometime.

Im planning on finding a way to kill Drizzt, been reading the guides and good range is a must XD

Darts are fine for a tank, but a risky choice for a mage because of their short range.  Getting closer to your target means you are more likely to be targeted in turn (although if you use SCS your mages will normally be the targets of choice anyway).

Actually, there are some ways to kill Drizzt without using ranged attacks at all - for example by abusing the superior range of two handed swords while blocking drizzt at a certain point in the lake area and having the npcs who block him leave the party so he won' attack them. However, these are mostly either very cheesy tactics or solokills by heavily buffed fighter/mage multiclasses.

Drizzt is easy to kill if you're not bothered about how you do it.  He won't attack neutral creatures so if you surround him with those he's dead meat - lots of halberds lying around to chop him up with, while he swishes his scimitars in vain.

Haha, that is a cool iidea, but aren't i gonna be at 12000xp whilst the others are still round 2000xp.
I read something about the island and the lake... but it looks like i need to get driz like right next to th edge, and then turn invisible or something... and then waste with arrows and stuff.

If he wasnt magic resistant it would be so much easier just to wand him to death.

Plus he's hard to hit since the party's THAC0 is from 15 to 25.

Kagain being 15 and edwin being 25 Posted Image

also when going round to that little island i keep getting ninja'd by half ogres.

I took Edwin, Dynaheir and Minsc in the same party with no problems all the way through BG. I picked up Dynaheir/Minsc before even speaking to Edwin. I believe the conflicts only revolve around Edwin being in the party when you rescue Dynaheir.

Killing him by shooting from the island relies on him failing to see there's a possible path round the lake.  I have been successful with this, but only very rarely.  If you plan to do this then why not kill all the other opposition before setting the trap for him.  I nearly always play in a no-reload style and getting your main character ahead of the party in XP is therefore a positive advantage.  If you're really worried about that you could recruit some additional NPCs to use just as blockers.

You won't have much joy in hitting him other than with a critical, unless you have a high-level buffed party.  From memory I think his AC is -16.

Ac -16? Whooooah! I am jealous to epic levels - at least that would help bet sarevok - idk what his THAC0 is, but it keeps knocking out even my tanks... hence my addiction to wands of summoning XD

edit: i found something about this recently on google and i *think* i may have fixed it... whenever dynaheir dies, he says something about her falling easily or something.

I wanna loot his posh weapons + armour *evil face*

What was it... mithril chain +5 or something.

It's a long time since I killed him, but I think it was chain +4.  The great advantage is if you are a fighter/thief as you can use your thieving skills while wearing it.

Ahaha, then Montaron will love it - he's my fave thief so far lol, just killed 3 flesh golems with him alone at level 3 - hide and backstab... repeat.

So mith chain +4... that should be like 1 AC isnt it, or was it 0.
Forget which of chain and splint is 4 or 5 base AC.

IIRC, Fighter/Mages may also cast spells in it.

Even better - if there were actually any fighter mages in existance (im sure there aren't even any in BG2 O_o)
And if there was i could easily keep it at the startof SoA *evil look*

Im actually thinking of swapping montaron for Shar-Teel, apparently she can dual to a good thief XD

I'm not sure about that.  It's a while since I used it, but I think the special benefit is only to thieves, not mages (mithril, i.e. dwarven armour, rather than elven).  I don't think there is any elven armour in vanilla BG1, though you can get some from mods, e.g. Dark Horizons.

If you want fighter mages why not give the Level 1 NPCs mod a go - you can set any of the NPCs up with a wide choice of classes and kits (even ones normally illegal).

Yeah im thinking of the level 1 NPC thingy, though idk if it clashes with Nathaniel mod at all.
I wanna keep most NPC's like the original though - mInsc the ranger, Imoen Thief/Mage, Jaheira Fighter/Druid etc.
I could make Nalia a fighter/mage though - she seems a little more like that.

How i wish Dynaheir never died lol Posted Image
Even though i keep getting minsc killed in Bg1 - he kept getting HP of 2-5 each level Posted Image

Nalia should've been a Priestess of Lathander.

Ahahaha, i had an evil thought... i wish there were good fighter mages XD
Except Yoshimo possibly - but he's a shadow thief backstabbing fool who deserved to be finger of death'd by me.

I could make any evil thieves assassins - but i can't recall if there are actually any evil thieves in BG2.

As evil a profession of stealing someone else's property is, there are no evil thieves in BG2. I couldn't even find mod-npc thieves that are evil. Most modders who make a thief character, add just one more do-good thief.

*edit: it's getting off-topic though, this is the BG 1 forum. Hail Monty! (I wish I could put a nice quote from him here, but he talks quite incomprehensible for a non-English native. What kind of accent does he have?)

Fighter-mage is great choice for PC, precisely because there's no F/M npc. There's a nice mod-F/M, but she's not as strong as I tend to make my NPC's: Indira (from Pocketplane.net). She wasn't very talkative though in the campaign I used her for, don't know if it's a bug, the readme says she should have 20 banters in total, and I took care to pick characters she should have banters with.

There are also quite a few mods which make Khalid into a Fighter/Mage. The one I'm using now is from BG1Tweaks (the G3 version, I think - there is another tweak pack by CoM).
