At the begining of the game, it takes about 8 minutes for mine to finish loading before I am actually able to edit Hawke's appearance.

The first time I played the game, I thought it had crashed, so I restarted and everything.

In the end, I realised that I just had to wait for a very very long time for the 'loading' icon to vanish.

How long does it take for all of you?

Im on 40gb PS3.

Initially, it was loading for at least 5 minutes before I quit the game (with the PS button) because I thought the process had frozen. After restarting the game, the process took about 4 minutes.

Mine is the old 80GB model. I wonder if the loading time is proportional to how many save files you have in Origins.

In another thread Bioware mentioned they are aware that freezes can happen depending on how many DAO saves you have. I had 20 and it took a long time to load the appearance. I cut them down to 10 but have not tried a new character yet. I am running an original 40 gig model.

It took about 10 minutes for me. I also thought it was frozen, but I walked away, and shortly after I returned it "unfroze".

At first maybe 2, 3 or 4 minutes. It's an older 80 gig model with maybe a dozen DA:O saves. I've since added a bunch more DA:O saves, and it does seem to be taking a few minutes longer.

From what Ive heard, it varies depending on how many save files you have in Origins. Mine took 10-15 seconds at most because I only have like 5 data files. Guess it's EAs way of "punishing" folks who have 95 data files or whatnot lol.
