Strike this mess from canon (or demote it to a sidestory, as it should have been from the beginning) and make a proper sequel, I say.
I hate people like this.

Fine. You don't like the game. I disagree but its personal choice. I on the other hand, loved the game believe it is a worthy sequel to DA:O.I would definitely have preferred this to just rehashing DA:O all over again as alot of sequels do.
I loved Origins. It remains one of my favourite games of all time. DA2 does nothing to denigrate or detract from the world it created. It tells another story, a different story. Different doesnt mean worse.
I count both games amongst my all-time favourites.

So just because some fans have taken a dislike to DA2, it should be discarded despite the fact that thousands of people thought the game was awesome?? Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but this goes a bit far.

Nah, people like you are just trying hard to convince yourselves that your $60 purchase was money well spent, even though it wasn't to avoid feeling buyer's remorse.

Try again, you weren't far off.
Actually, you were completely wrong.
I liked this game. I would gladly go out and pay $60 again tommorrow for the same game.
The fact that you like to tell me what I'm thinking really does take away any validity from your argument.
I've played RPG's for close to 15 years now. From Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Fallout, Gothic, Two Worlds, Arx Fatalis, Anachronox and god knows how many more. I know what I like and I like Dragon Age 2. Its not without its problems but neither was Origins or any game that went before.
I don't give two ****s whether my opinion is popular or if it sits right with you.

Yeah I do, but he didn't seem to get it first time round so I thought I'd repeat myself.
Give him a second chance and all that.

I knew from the get-go that I would play this game for the lore and story, and all my expectations were just blown away by the end. The story in DA2 is light-years beyond DA:O, and if you cannot see that, well, I'm just glad that I'm not you.
I cannot remember the last time I was so emotionally attached to and shocked by some of the plot points and cinematics of this game. It's brilliantly crafted, put together and represents some of the absolute best storytelling roleplaying-games have to offer.

Dragon Age 2 obviously wasn't without it's technical and gameplay issues, but to see so many people denying and wishing the story ever happened is just baffling to me.

Eh, its the culture of where gaming is right now. Mob mentality is very strong, specially when a certain site decides to go on a crusade. It is why you don't really see anything of substance being discussed by the TC's 9/10 times. Luckly you normally kind fine a decent discussion about 5 pages in, but normally take that long.

Plus, the overall conflict set a more tense ton - different then DAO's. You actually saw more conflicting viewpoints from your companions this time around.
