ok.. Dragon Age Origins = apples
and .. Dragon Age 2 = oranges

The point of this is they are two very different stories with two very different point of views. The replay value of Origins honestly cannot be compared to that of 2. As completly seperate entities ( which they are ) they both have in my opinion very high replay value each with its own reasons .

That may be true, but regardless of point of view or different story, you will end up playing a good game more times than a bad one. Not saying DA2 is a terrible game, but I just don't feel the wish to play through it.

DA:O got bigger replay and why ? You have just from start 6 possible starts if i dont missed something, than you are able to choose playstyle like a hardass or good guy, and there is planty of chooses what can change your next game contnent, after that all there you have awakening and lot of dlc´s who is improving game.
DA2 by my opinion there is two big probs, first is recicling areas and second is actual numbers of dlc´s .

DA:O - about 10 times (still not borred) :D:D:D
DA2 - about 2 - 3 times (each one class played but i dunno if i will be continued, and i pray for better datadisk or dlc´s)

Thats perfectly acceptable. If said title/game is for whatever the reason unappealing to you then if you wish not to play it  that is absolutly ok.

yeah, I think that the origins alone make DAO better for replaying. With DA2, you have to get through that same starting period every time--that will get old really fast.

I've played DA:O three times so far, and will probably play it more at some point.

I expect I'll replay DA II whenever I've run out of other things to do and don't remember the story well any more, but not before then. Replay value in an RPG largely hinges on how different you can make your character (and the party you take) for me, and such things as the voiced PC and not being able to change companion equipment bring it down a lot.

I think my reason for not liking the replay of DA:O is that I felt the human noble was my personal canon for DA:O... playing other races let me see different things, but never felt right.

With DA2, I'm playing Hawke no matter what... different versions of him, but still Hawke. So that issue isn't a problem for me.

DA:O= All the Origins and then some extra playthroughs.

DA2= Once. Slogging my way through a second playthrough, but finding myself losing interest.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say DA2 is apples while Origins is oranges... or rather, "oringes"?

I always say you can compare apples and oranges.

Becuase they are both fruits.

So your opinion is a mute point.

It would have been awesome if you two had posted together in a quote. Very funny stuff, LOL.

Disagreeing with me is perfectly ok with me . Attacking my opinion and my views in an open forum is not however. That particular comment you made borders on harrasment..

DA2 recycles so many zones that your first playthrough feels like your third by the time you finish. It doesn't really hold a candle in comparison to DA:O in terms of replayability.

This.

If modders retexture the 1000 identical caves, 1000 identical warehouses, and so on, it could make DA2 a bit more interesting to play through. I can't stomach the idea of doing it any time soon though, despite curiosity as to what evil dialogue will lead to. I'm seeing the re(re-re-re-re-re-re)used maps in my dreams at the moment.

I replayed DA:O about 5 times. I quit DA2 about halfway through my second playthrough. I'll probably pick it up again someday. Maybe if theres some substantial DLC.

I'm late to this franchise, so I only got through DAO one full time before DA2 was released.  After this, my initial run, through DA2, I'll go back and finish my second run through DA:O.  Then I'll come back and play this again.  I'll repeat until I'm ready to move on to another game or more DLC is released.  Reminds me of how I played the Baldur's Gate series.

I'm kinda working around that by quicksaving before the conversations. No, that won't let me see big changes, but I realized pretty early in this game that going through it a second time would be painful.

DA:O about five times (4 complete, two characters each half way, so counting as five).
DA2: 1 full playthrough, got almost to the end of act2 on a second character and stopped.

My friend who doesn't come to the forums, but is sitting next to me right now says:
DA:O 2.5 times. His wife beat it 1.5 times.
DA2: 1.5 times then he stopped. His wife hasn't played it yet.

Origins - 2 technically, second doesn't have Golems/Witch Hunt done. Multiple others stated and quit because the intro is just too damn long.
2 - 1 finished, second started but postponed till after Arrival because I'm doing another run for it now.
Mass Effect 1(Just for posterity) - 9
Mass Effect 2 - 4(largely due to the fact that I can play after ending and reached max level after 1 play through. Will go back to after I finish leveling my maleshep, currently in mid-30's but I want a 60 for ME2.

HOWEVER. I should note that often after finishing an RPG once I need a hiatus before finishing it again.(Mass Effect had a 3 month break after my first go because I honestly couldn't stand it at that point.

DAO : 5 (DAA 2), started multiple others for the Origins but got bored half-way through the game.
DA2 : 2, starting a third. Still managed to miss a bunch of stuff in my second playthrough, sooo...

DA:O - completed it twice. Played through all the origin stories, though.
DA2 - working on my second play through, planning to go through again after that. Will definitely replay DA2 more than I replayed DA:O.

I don't plan on replaying DA2 after a few months or next year.

DAO I beat 4 times.
DA2 I beat once, and promptly after I started a new DAO playthrough to get rid of the stench.
