Does anyone wish you could have sided with the Arishok?

I wish I could have had him survive without losing Isabella.
Isabella was the one that started the whole problem in the first player so one could say that she deserves it.

Its amazing how many people like the Qun, its one thing to respect them but to actually want to side with a group of people who would immediately reassign your PC to some manual labor job the moment you joined them, or cut out your tongue and leash you if your a mage, is beyond me.
They're bad@ss, and they won't reassign your PC to some manual labor job because your PC is good at fighting. During a Qunari's childhood, your role is determined by what you're good at.

How so? Submitting to the Qun means nothing but that you lack the spine to come up with what to do with your life yourself, that you fear freedom, and the responsibility, that comes with crafting your own fate.
If anything, the Qunari are the weakest, most spineless characters in the entire game, because for what it's worth, even some mercenary cutthroat in darktown at least tried - where those who submit to the qun just say "Hey, I don't want to think, I don't want to be responsible, someone tell me what to do.

Not after she came back because she is your friend. Doesn't fit my Hawke's personality to cheat people like that. Even if Isa cheated Hawke before. I don't even mind fighting the Arishok, but why did he have to die? I mean I didn't chop his head off or something and I was spirit healer. He didn't have to die. Especially considering it wouldn't matter for the story since you CAN let him live if you give him Isabella. One more case of no choice where it should be.Capt. Obvious wrote...

This is a false statement, your race and sex is the initial determiner of what role you will fill, after that they pick based on individual talent. There are no warriors in the qun who are not males of the unamed quniari race for instance. It doesnt matter if your a better fighter then them, the fact that you excelled at something does not mean you are most suited for it in their eyes, you would have excelled even more at a role you race and sex is more inclined to perform by their belief system.
I could also mention that you never get to have sex again unless they decide its time for children and they pick your partner, maybe that will give people a more clear idea of how much the society controls the people living in it.
People forget that the quinari dont consider any one job more important then any other, a warrior is no more important then a farmer in their society, its doesnt matter if Hawke is a badass warrior, his race, and if female her sex determines that s/he is better suited at a different task, and because s/he is such a talented individual would excel in that task, and if a farmer for instace, would be the best farmer in the kingdom.

However, once I sided with him and installed Qunari rule, I'd have been leaving. Much too rigid a life for me.

There is a choice. In fact there's like a billio chases there. You made your chocie when you chose to duel him. It's a fight to the death. He wouldn't accept anything less.
