Having just reached Act 2 and now reading here about the companion slow combat bug,I was wondering if someone from the development team could give us all on update on the situation.Basically to see if we should stop playing to avoid ruining the experience of the game. The current console workaround is not an option for some people that like the three characters invovled (Aveline,Isabella and Sebastian).A little ''hey we are working on it'' would suffice no pressure guys.Just to point out I am digging DA2 and thats why I personally don't want to keep playing if it means the experience is marred. Thanks in advance.

I really hope so! Just found out about the Isabella bug, which has thrown a spanner in the works in regards to my second play through...
Would be nice to get some confirmation of a patch so that I can either return to planning my next playthrough, or take my copy of the game to my local CEX whilst they are still paying good money for second hand copies.

There is a patch coming but it won't be for some time. Patches take time to code. As I stated in another thread, they have to catalogue all the glitches and bugs, recreate them on their end and then go in and code the patch to fix all the problems. That takes time. Be patient.

"The patch will come when it comes" would be the sensible approach, but it's hard not to be anxious. It's not like these are just minor bugs. Some of these bugs are really disruptive to the game. Stuff like Merrill's act 3 quest's ending triggering before you can begin it, attack animations slowing down if you try to be Isabela's friend, etc, etc, all hurt the game.

can anyone tell me if these glitches are related to the infinite xp and gold expoitation??

no they aren't. I've done a normal playthrough without using that exploitation and still had the same problems.

I just want them to fix the bug in Fools Rush In. It just happened to me today! Frack. Even if they do fix it though, I'm too far now to bother going back
First they screw-up the pre-order content, now there's a massive, gaping bug right in the middle of the game...what's next?

Though I should say, I've been loving the game otherwise

I didn't realize people been having this much trouble with bugs and glitches.
Seems I am fortunate, as the only problem I have faced is the achievements for the Exiled Prince being bugged. Other than that I have had no problems with quests or anything.
I really do hope a patch comes in the not too distant future so everyone can be 100% happy.

It has to be verified by Microsoft, so we have to wait a bit. They released one for the PC already but that is typical (time constraints). We don't want to have a PS3 episode on LIVE do we?

The PC patch is a beta, not fully tested so it may cause more problems. As for the PS3 patch I dunno how that works I don't own a PS3. As for microsoft, yeah they have to verify the patch, dunno why but that's how they work.

PS3s are more liberal and they've had developers screw up the service a few times because of their less than strick policies.
Oh, and that's ^^ why, so their system doesn't crash due to unforseen/untested errors.

Bioware has said that they are working on patches that addresses the slow combat bug and among other things I am sure.
Here are some replies I compiled

It is likely the PC guys will get it first as us Xbox and the PS3 players need to wait to have the patch distributed to PSN and LIVE...This will taken a while if past experience is anything to go by...

Usually doesn't take long for ms approval on live ,I guess I'm just anxious at the notion of having a playthrough which I am loving go down the swanny.Didn't seem to have any problems last night had Isabella with thumbs up but swapped out for Seb ,seems to be ok for now just hope it stays that way:)
Truth is as well that I haven't seen any of the bugs others have experienced.Same thing happened with New Vegas so maybe I'm just lucky that way!

Patience is one thing, but after completing DA2 with 40 odd hours of playtime, experiencing game breaking/plot breaking bugs, I'd of thought that a patch would've been imminent since these bugs are heavily noticeable and the game was released this way.
Since completing it I've returned to Dragon Age:Origins and the DLC, hoping that a patch would be out by the time I've done a whole new playthrough and still no luck yet (Half way through awakening).
If a company like Bethesda/Obsidian can release a patch a week after release with over 200 quest/scripting related fixes (Quoted from the wiki), then I'm sure Bioware could.
Unfortunetely I think their patch team is much smaller at the moment, since the rest of the team are probably working on the Mass Effect 2 DLC Arrival along with sorting the bugs out on there.

Patches are complicated and if any of these bugs cannot be reproduced by the dev team then you simply get no fix. Developers cannot fix something they can't reproduce. It's that simple.
