I played a mage on my 1st run through and not on a hard difficulty so this may change in future play throughs but what was your default spell combos you found youself falling back on for the most part?

For me I most often cast Gravitic ring right off the bat.  Then sometimes Pull of the abyss.  It then depended on if I just wanted to do mob damage (Firestorm) or go after one opponent (Crushing prison).  I found it really made a difference slowing things down right away, keeping mobs away for a bit longer and giving me time to select the most dangerous opponents to go after.
