Hi, I am 25 years old guy and I usually play FPS games such as Half-Life, Team Fortress 2 and I really respect Valve since 1998. I knew that BioWare was (still is) very popular with its RPGs, but this genre wasn't for me because you have to read a lot of texts in order to understand story and so on. So I thought. One day i found Mass Effect on illegal torrent site and it changed my opinion about RPGs. It was plenty of action and had beatyfull story, wich you could change. Game had very interesting characters, even romance. That made a big imact on me since I am still sensitive. I considered this game one of my favorites and beat it twice. Also I bought it in respect for BioWare.

Three days ago I finished Dragon Age: Origins and it blew my mind. Even now I feel embarrassed... I can't and don't want to play any other game. OMG, I was so connected to my player and Morrigan... I cried when she left, I cried when the ending said that she sometimes thinks of my player and regrets leaving him. Jesus... This game was the first that made me cry, feel sadness, revenge, even... Now I'm waiting for the sequel or DLC. I just really want to see Morrigan one more time and hear her explanations about such decision :( Oh, I'm buying it with no doubts. I just need to express my thanks to BioWare.

And don't  say  "get a life". I have a girlfriend and job. And don't blame me I try games illegaly at first, then buying them. ME and DA:O are in my list.

Yeah, illegally downloading games is basically looked down upon here.

You also put in spoilers.

Not a good way to start a thread, I'll say.

Hope you never complain about DRM, since you're the reason developers and publishers insist on packaging it with retail products which usually end up f***ing the people that buy the game legit

jerk

So much hatred... What about, if you have nothing to say, you guys just don't say anything?

Sure, he did download a game illegally. I think Bioware should be happy he did, actually, because he wouldn't have bough DA:O if he hadn't...

That's a nice story there, thanks for sharing ! Although a "spoiler" tag would have been swell... *averts his eye from the OP as soon as sees spoiler part....*

I have to say, the OP is right.  This is the first game that has actually drawn my wife away from the TV to find out what was going on in my game.  The voice acting is incredible, and the story absolutely blows away anything on TV or in the theaters these days.
Excellent work, BioWare.
PS Have mercy on the OP.  He's like a redeemed Blood Mage.  Sure, we have to kill him, but we can be nice about it.  Posted Image

Theft is theft.

Don't be so harsh on the guy. So he downloaded something illegally, at least he's willing to pay for it now that he knows it's good. I am sure most of the people here have downloaded something illegally in their life.

Oh, this again..

He didn't steal anything. He copied something. Noone lost a product. The TV argument is moot - you'd have to take someone's TV away for this. That's called theft, yes. What he did was copying. And after trying he decided to buy the game. This is good news. Don't crucify the OP and move on.

In a way he tried out a demo. Illegal torrents are in most cases worse than having the actual game and if you actually like it it's more than worth buying it. If only to support the developers. Illegal downloading isn't good, but insulting him for it goes too far. Not like anyone out here is an angel.

Maybe if companies stopped charging $50 for a total piece of crap, people wouldn't feel the need to download first then buy it if it's actually a good game. Just saying.

I'm glad that the OP enjoyed the game so much. Just goes to show that the "neanderthals who play FPS's and who wouldn't even like RPG's to begin with!" maybe doesn't hold true for everyone, hmm? ;)

Moving this over to the spoiler forum.

Would people be so forgiving of the OP, if he said "I hated Dragon Age and I illegally copied it"? I am guessing if the OP didn't like it, the OP wouldn't buy it so his mind isn't filled with the best intentions. The OP has stolen intellectual property. I have been burned by buying crap games and wasted money on them but that isn't the game-makers fault. It is our fault for buying it and the game company shouldn't be punished, just because someone is so cheap to actually take a risk and buy the game.

Except he didn't. Notice the lack of registered games.
