I've been using with success the following editor to modify Dragon Age 2 *.UTI

TLKEdit Revision 13d by EwaldTheUnimaginative

Requirements: Java 6 or above installed.

To be honest, I knew about this, but never thought to try it on DA stuff, since I didn't think it would work.

I tried a lot editors, and they all lacked the resref string length requirements of the DA2 uti. would have been a lot less painful if I had run into this one before I did my own...

What resref string length requirements are you referring to?

Sunnie22 is refering to some GFF Editors, such as the official NWN GFFEditor that do not support resref string with size bigger than 16 characters.

Oh so it's more of the age of the editors rather than something specific to DA2.

Thank you very much for sharing this!

I can open the .uti files and see the properties list, but I'm not sure how to use this program to edit. How would I go about adding a new property with this program and removing others?

Yeah.

You can copy paste existing one using the copy paste buttons on top of the editor, then modify the property, or also create one from scratch using the same pattern than existing properties.

When you add or delete item properties, be sure to correct the value of each property struct (far right column) to match the rank of the property (far left column). And to have all the item properties ranked from 0 incrementally.

Not so sure it age, persay, but none of them that I found allowed more than 16 characters, or the other issue was that they could not save exolocstring stringref as an int, which is required for DA2 items.

you have to use GFF editor to extract them from designerresources.rim at least that's how I´m doing it, but so far i can't make the items to work =S ...if you get it done let me know!!!

This editor seems to work as well, I've only tried to modify the level so far however... not sure about other attributes.

You can't just drop them in the override folder and have them show up; anything that's not a gda or the chargenmorphcfg.xml file needs to be packed in an erf file. There is a link to a packing tool in a thread here somewhere.

If you already use the updated filename list for pyGFF, then for still hashed filename, there is no other way than opening the UTI to check the inside name

Sweet, thanks. Now to ****** away hours making a uti level robes-be-gone mod that won't result in terrible material type colouring...
