My back alley quest is bugged and i also forgot to loot the revenent in the Denerim random encounter (and I want his note for the sake of completeness). So is there any way to reset this events or areas to make the thugs/revenant respawn? There is an eventlist and an arealist in the savegame, but all events are identified only by a number and area names are not all that helpfull too. I am also not sure if simply deleting some events/areas from the save file is the right way to go. So, can anybody give me some advice on the topic?
any way to reset an area or quest?

If anyone finds out, there would be many digital baked goods for them!
I'm still searching for a way to trigger Zevran earlier and I think it can be done through the proper flipping of quest flags.

Bump.
I got a bugged 'crime wave' quest and I'm about 10 hours further in since then, so I don't really want to go back to an earlier save.
Knowing how to reset a quest would be extremely useful.

I would think it would be possible by flipping plot flags via a script on module load, but it would require knowing the flag names in the original campaigns plot files, which is impossible until BW gives us the key to the motherland.

Not completely impossible, but it's a lot easier if you have a savegame from just before the quest got set.R3v3r3nD420 wrote...

If you turn on script logging, plot variable accesses (both reads and updates) are logged, like so:
Script GetPlot [cod_bks_wilhelmletter] [COD_BKS_WILHELMLETTER] = [0] Script SetPlot [cod_bks_wilhelmletter] [COD_BKS_WILHELMLETTER] -> [1]
