Rune of Valiance is overpowered.

Especially when using high level armors like the Champion armor, Runes of Valiance make the game ridiculously easy.
Put one on each piece of armor, and you suddenly have a ton of extra power, making fights a cakewalk.

Oh, and another thing. The battleaxe Bloom, with a Rune of Destruction and a Rune of Impact can pretty much one shot any foe. The cold attack brittles them, and then the sweep or mighty blow added with it smashes them to bits.

I am pretty sure every character only get the bonus from 1 rune of valiance. Even 1 is amazingly good though.

Thats because companions only have one piece of armor. The Champion Armor has got a rune slot for each piece. Only one rune of Valiance can be put on each piece of armor, but the attributes stack.

I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen,  but it means I've got twenty eight extra attribute points in total.

Even the +7 from one rune is overpowered.


Maybe its just a bug I'm having that stacks each rune.

it's also broken, because on the 360 version, you can actually put more than one in the armors with multiple slots, despite what the description says.

Have you confirmed that you have +28 to all attributes? If so, that is rediculously broken and overpowered. Even +7 to all atributes is borderline overpowered.

Eh, you don't like it, don't use it. I'm more bummed that I have to wait till such a late state in the game to get it cuz that rune would have been a huge help in act's 1 and 2.

I take it that it gives +7 attributes.  I would be glad it is in Act 3.  For such a great rune I wouldn't waste it on anything but the best armor or weapon.

Well you can make more then one, plus you can take runes out if your strapped for gold and don't want to pay for a new rune to put on your new armor. :D

I didn't try putting more than one in one armour piece but I did put more than one in an armour set and it did not stack.

I think the idea of something being overpowered in the endgame of a single player rpg is rather daft, but it is a nice item.

At least for me the +7 works only once, you can put as many runes as you want in the armor (it doesn't prevent you from doing so) but you will only see a +7 bonus in your stats page, it ignores the rest.

I actually really dig it. That one rune saved my rogue from being alpha'd (again, lol) earlier by sneaky little bastard of an enemy rogue. I panicked, downed a health potion then turned around and slammed assasinate on his ass to show him how you really smite a fool, mwhahaha.

not overpowered... you can only use one of them, it simply allows you to focus your build better... i usually put it in those boots you get from the start and that makes it so i don't have to pump a stat simply to wear armor.

To clear things up: Valiance, in theory, is intended to be a non-stackable effect. However, I have no reason to disbelieve the OP it does stack in some specific cases: we are talking a spiritual successor to BG2, after all, where you could dual-wield Melf's Minute Meteors all right ;)

In my game on the 360 the rune doesn't stack. I put one on each piece of armor and then went down to only one and stats were the same.

I checked, doesn't seem to stack for me either and I have a 360. I wish it did though, lol. Considering you have to wait so freaking long to get it afterall.

You can get the rune right at the start of Act 3 @ Sundermount, past the camp near the other exit on the right behind a low, broken wall. However, you will need to slay the high dragon to craft it.

It stacked for me on PC. Put one into each piece of Champion armor and they stacked.
