Hi all,

So I just got a new PC and just downloaded Mass Effect 2. Instead of buying it on steam, i decided to use amazon since it was a few bucks cheaper. I wanted to register it to Steam though just  to it could be organized with my other games and my friends could see etc. When i try and put in the product key though, Steam doesn't recognize it. I figured it might have had something to do with amazon so I thought if I downloaded it again from EA (as i remember it saying during instalation that i could download my games on this or other computers from my account) but i can't find where to do that.

Does anyone know if either of these solutions will work or if its possible at all. Also just for the sake of knowing for the future, how to download my registered games from EA's website so I can move it around to other computers.

I know its a minor thing but its something I'd like to know. ;)

Thanks,
Bricoli

Not really a PlayStation 3-related question, now is it?

Wrong section, but whatever. We all make mistakes.

I'm afraid there is no way for you to register that copy of Mass Effect 2 on Steam. You can only register cd keys of Valve games, games using Steamworks and a handful of other third party games. Mass Effect 2 is not one of these games. As for which games you can register via Steam, refer to this list.
