So I've had this big problem happen, and it's really... annoying to say the least

Something is wrong with my main character, she's acting like she's in shapeshifted form but her sprite is human and I cannot cast any spells, including shapeshift.  I've even tried to look at it in shadowkeeper and I just can't find anything.  Another thing is that she has higher HP and some other stats, as if shapeshifted.  I'm very confused, and very far in this game and I don't want to have to restart.  The most annoying part of this is that I cannot talk to anyone, I have to switch to another character and talk with them.

If anyone knows the solution to this I would really appricate it.  I suppose I could always warp her into something else and see if that works, but everything I've tried just isn't working.

Edit:  I tried changing her into something else and it didn't work, so scratch that.
Edit 2:  Forgot to say that it's not equipment, I've tried taking it all off and that didn't do the trick either.
Edit 3:  Sorry for all the edits!  Sometimes when I try to talk someone I get a weird pop-up phrase in red that reads "Axel-" and than something, as if my character is talking 0.0

Does it help if you move to another area.

Failing that, try enabling the console, hover the pointer over your character and use CTRL/R.

Nope, I've been playing for several hours this way, I even had an instance where the main character shape shifts on her own (child of Bhaal and all that) and that didn't fix it either. It was going just fine using other people to talk until... I ran into a main story NPC who will not talk to anyone but Axel... now I'm in trouble 0.0

Doesn't Ctrl/R just heal the character? I'll try it.

CTRL/R says heal but I thought it restored them (ie any effects were cleared, e.g. stoneskin, armour spell etc gets removed).

Not sure what is going on but this should work if you can bear with it (and if you can get a multiplayer session started - I can't at the moment).

Dump all your equipment so charname has nothing.
Save your game & close BG down.
Copy the save game from the SAVE folder to the MPSAVE folder.
Start a multiplayer game (tcpip, windowed).
Create a new charname the same as old charname and save them.
Load the game but import the new charname over the old charname at the character selection screen.
Save the game & quit.
Copy the savegame back to the SAVE folder - use a new name to keep the original just in case.
Use Shadowkeeper to add any extra STR/DEX/CON/INT/WIS/CHA gained from tomes.
Load the game and use the console to set XP then level up. If necessary go back to Shadowkeeper and change the HP to the original setting.
Re-equip.

I'd offer to look at the savegame but would need to know what mods you had to see if that would work.

Not sure if this sets the character kills/party stats back to zero though.

I don't have any mods, but I've just decided to start over anyway. I can't get a multiplayer game going and I haven't played BG1 in ages so I decided to start at the beginning and hope to never encounter this problem again, and if I do not to save over my good file like a goon XD
