Currently I'm trying to decide which dwarf to support for king, they have told me very little of the individuals themselves and all I know is that Bhelin(sp?) was the Kings son however they don't go by bloodline but by the choosing of a successor and that Harrowmont was chosen(or so he says) by the king as the successor.
So forums help me decide who to support!
Dwarven King-Who did you support?

Bhelen for me - always. Oh except once for the achievement. Did you want reasons or is that more spoilery than you'd like?
Why you ask? And well you might - he sends you to the Deep Roads faster and no need to bother with the Provings...what? Oh, I'm joking of course....>.>
Edit:
Okay, seriously - for my money he's better for Orzemmar in the long run. Others may think differently but that's how I roll.

As I was playing Bhelen's brother I supported him, even though he was a jerk. Also, Harrowmont came off as a stick in the mud who lived in the past. I was kinda thinking along the lines the dwarves need to adapt or die.
In the long run, it doesn't really matter, one choice is not inherently "better" than the other, it's all simply how you choose to role-play your character.

I've put both on the throne, but I much pefer putting Harrowmount on the throne.
Why? Bhelen killed his older brother, and framed his other sibling for it. He may have killed his father. He scammed and lied and cheated in order to sway nobles to his side in the elections.
In contrast, Harrowmount is indeed a stick in the mud who lives in the past. But at least he's honest.

Yeah i think i am going to support harrowmont, as Bhelen is lying and cheating to try and get on the throne. Hmmm also quick question, I have to steal the love letters from Myraja's room but Leliana doesn't have high enough skill to do so, where can I turn to break into that room?

Dont do it! support Bhelen! or at least only if you care about what they say in the epilogue.
Or, if you do support harrowmont when a later quest comes up in the deep roads to save or destroy something, destroy it otherwise you doom the kingdom.

Both my canons support Bhelen. Harrowmont is a spineless douche, even if he's a "nice guy". Bhelen plays dirty, but it's something I can appreciate. he killed his brother, sure. Don't really care. Trian was a douchebag anyway, and that's the way dwarven politics go. The murder of some spoiled, pampered noble prince by his younger, ambitious brother is hardly noteworthy, or important.
And of course, Bhelen is all around stronger and smarter than Harrow-fail. So in the playthroughs I care about (except my DN) I support Bhelen.

Hehe, when I played that part of the game I really already thought about if there may be a discussion about this ongoing here, and lucky me, here it is in fact.
Well, my thoughts about it: It's not to choose between wrong or right, in BioWare Games always never it's as easy like that, and they're really good in giving you this kind of headnuts you really can enjoy thinking (and discussing) about, because I thought of both candidated as corrupted and lying persons, it was clear for me that this is not a decision between right or wrong.
It has more been a choose between Tradition or New Ways.
At my first visit in the City of Dust I met this woman who had been send there just because she had born a son instead of a girl and in their system it kinda doomed her to live like that.
This was the major point for me to decide for the fresh wind, I wanted the dwarves to rethink this stupid system and renewing it (what will be the case in the end dialogue if you choose Bhelen).

Bhelen, even though he's a total goober.

Bhelen is the better king, he plays dirty but that's just how dwarven politics was suppose to be. Harrowmont is too old fashion and he gets murdered in the end anyway-which means the whole putting him on the throne was a waste of time.
Harrowmont further alienated the dwarven community from the rest of the world, Bhelen, though a jerk, is a forward thinker and brought change to orzammar. He kind of modernised orzammar in Dragon age terms.

Harrowmount, just for the epilogue where he makes you the King after him. I can do a better job than both him and Bhelen.

Totally went in blind myself. Really wanted to research the characters in-game more than what I got (aka NEWCOMER, CHOOSE NOAW). Eventually put Harrowmond on the throne just to get it over with even though I had no clue whatsoever what each person had in store for the dwarves. The epilogue made me sorely regret my decision... >_> Especially because I only chose him over Bhelen due to the fact that he was friendlier/seemed less evil...
All in all: Orzammar was the least likeable main quest in the entire game for me. Not only are you sorely left in the dark about the politics, all you do is explore Deep Roads. I'd rather prefer some variation.

I did Harrowmont once. Then I always did Bhelen.
Bhelen may be a deceitful, murdering douchebag, but thats Dwarven Politics in a nutshell. lol
Through his route you do find out some of Harrowmont's dirty tricks and Bhelen does ultimately do better for the Dwarven people. Even if his methods are heavy handed. Harrowmont would do the same to enforce tradition.

Bhelen is such a noob. He's my most hated person during all of the Dragon Age!
