Ha! That's perfect. I feel the same way, though I'm a dude who expressly enjoys the gentlemen.

I think Sebastian is adorable, especially when you flirt with him as F!Hawke. His reactions are fun, he's clearly tempted but resolute in his vow to the Maker. I'm just disappointed that he only decided NOW that chastity and his vow are something he cannot break.

And I wish that there was a way to romance him as a rival, because that would seem like the route where his chastity goes out the window along with his vow, and he'll drag F!Hawke off to Starkhaven to claim his throne.

So I'm not the only one who got the impression that rivalmance was an opportunity missed by Bioware? :D

For me I bought him because I heard he was a romance option (and as a prince it sounded like another Alistair but with a hot accent). Now I don't care for two reasons:
1) There is a bug where if you get his 100% friendship passive bonus the game will glitch and start slowly reducing your hit defense until it is 0. Basically enemies look at you funny and you die :(

2) Chastity. This is such a guy thing of me to say but I just don't think I can take a relationship seriously where one person will NEVER put out. However I thought that there would be a chance to get him to renege his vow and have a full relationship with you but apparently that is not the case. Not only that but the 'unconventional partnership' he suggests to you is that you marry but you both have vows to the Maker so there is no sex. So not only will he never put out but he expects you to never do so as well...

So yeah that romance option basically shot itself in the foot with me...lol
Btw I'm a girl Image IPB

Is it embarrassing that I squeed a bit every time I could talk to Seneschal Bran, or when the Dalish Elf Fenarel threatened to kill us?

@Klarabella - there were so many good voices in DA2... I loved the accents, although the Dalish suddenly gaining one was a little weird. As for squee... I did that over Hubert and Stroud (the grey warden) because they're both voiced by Stephane Cornicard (Riordan). I am just a sucker for a sexy voice. *sigh*

As far as I'm concerned, there are a bunch of reasons.

1) He's gorgeous.

2) And a redhead.

3) He's adorable when confused by Hawke's flirting or the inappropriate remarks of your companions.

4) Even though I'm a Richard Dawkins-loving atheist in real life and my Hawke was none too keen on the Chantry, I could respect his convictions. Even that pesky celibacy one.

5) Initial appearances aside, he's got a sense of humour of his own. I especially liked the banter with Merrill about how grand clerics pick their names, and the one with Anders about looking at the clouds. ("That one looks a bit like a bunny rabbit.")

6) Vacillation about whether to take back Starkhaven or not, he's determined and courageous and a genuinely good person. (I was trying to max out rivalry with him, but could never manage it because he approved every time I rescued a kitten from a tree or something. The number of times I shouted 'dammit, Sebastian, stop being so nice!' at the screen were ... numerous.)

7) His voice is 100% pure distilled sex.

He's one hoopy frood. Even when he's have a deep conflict over his place in the world he's just so confident and genuinely good person. Also he's the best kind of religious; the "I have faith in something that makes me happy but if it doesn't make you happy whatever I'm not gonna preach it to you" kind of religious. I'd say he reminds me of a guy I knew in high school but that'd be kind of meaningless here.

I liked that. I liked his conversations with Fenris, too - they seemed to help Fenris a little bit with all the crap he was dealing with. And I was so, so relieved that when you had him and Isabela in the party, there was no preaching, because that's what I was worried about. But no, he was like "preaching doesn't work, you have to lead by example" and then the rest of the time, it was her getting him to blush when she talked about sex. It would have gotten on my nerves otherwise.

But really, I like him because I've loved his VA, Alec  Newman, for years. I just love listening to him talk. That, and he wasn't constantly griping about how templars or evil or how mages need to be locked up forever. It was nice to get a break from that sometimes :D

I have a sexy accent but I don't think anyone would agree to a life of celibacy to hear it.
and i don't play for sex scenes but I do rp my characters and for them never getting any from the one they love would be unrealistic.

Who says flirting has to amount to anything? Sometimes it just doesn't work, my Hawke can still secretly have a crush on him.

Other than having someone to give the sweet bows I find I don't really have a reason to put him in a party.

I haven't purchased him myself, but if i understand correctly he is a preachy chantry boy who will never sleep with you?
Even Alistair gives it up with a little coaxing.
So why do you like him?

What, the only reason to like someone is if they'll have sex with you? Sebastian is a person of strong moral conviction and great loyalty. Somepeople find that attractive. He also isn't ceaselessly angry, a blood mage, or an abomination. Refreshing!

Some people really love the idea of a chaste romance. Considering how the intimate scenes in this game go, it's barely a difference.

I haven't tried to romance Sebastian because I find him dull. Really, really dull. I've tried every conversational option open to me and he simply does not float my boat.

Too bad, since his preview video when he was announced made him very appealing.

The voice and the eyes. The spice must flow...

And it's kind of nice to have a relatively wholesome character around now and again. Lightens the mood.

He's actually really nice. He's kind to almost everyone in the party. He can be a little preachy, but I still like him. I like all of the companions, really.

So absolutely this!

It's a crime to package up those good looks, and that Scottish accent, and not have a little more ... character ... in the character.

I doubt you feel "sympathy," and I don't see what the point is in bashing people for having different preferences than you.

As a character, Sebastian is annoying, but I love his voice actor, having seen Alec Newman in the Dune series done by Sci-Fi(or Sy-Fy as they've taken to calling themselves these days). Both characters, Sebastian and Paul Atreides both have the brilliant-blue-eyes thing going on too.

He's got a heart of gold and isn't weighed down by copious amounts of angst when a crisis hits. I liked how his devotion to the Maker kept him on an even keel. His voice is absolutely gorgeous. He looks damn fine when using a bow and arrow.
