Not by a long shot no. All the marketing has painted Hawke being the most important person in Thedas, so I doubt DA2 will be the last we see of him/her. As for the Warden, presuming they lived, their story is also far from over I think. The Hero could be involved in defence against Orlais or could be searching out knowledge to prevent the last two Blights or something. There are far too many unanswered questions still.

No.. But I wish it would be. Halfway through the game I was kinda hoping for an ultimate sacrifice ordeal, did not care much for Hawke.

Haven't a clue but I think it would be ridiculous to have to play yet another new character in DA3. Would they too disappear as Hawke and the Warden have? I don't think I can invest in yet another character in this story, I want to see this through to the end with one of the characters I've lovingly created already. Seeing as that probably won't be the Warden I want it to be Hawke.

Eh...I never really developed much a feeling toward's Hawke, not like I did the Warden or Shepard. Do I think Hawke will be back? Maybe...I mean, in some ways I could careless. I was never really into the story of Kirkwall as I was in the story of Fereldan. I want a more Origins heavy sequel, as in the characters and world from that game is the one that is featured in the sequel. I'll be okay with a new character I guess...I just don't really care about Hawke too much.

Since it seems obvious our Wardens are returning for DA3 I think he will return as a companion that reacts and responds to things based on the dialogue option you picked the most. Wouldnt be hard to have him return with our custom faces on him.

Hope the Warden is dead in the deep roads, just plain maggot food. Honestly do not think either deserves another episode, neither of them are memorable... entertaining yes. Hawke however easily laps the muted (sacrifical lamb) Warden, who's only purpose was to play straight man for the clown Alister.

Do I think they could continue the Hawke story yes (though with what I have no idea, Hawke seems to leave committed to nothing really)

Would I really enjoy having to play Hawke again, no.

Everything points to both Hawke's and the Warden's stories not being over.

"And Hawke disappeared, just like the Warden"

If that's not foreshadowing, I don't know what is.

There will more than likely be an expansion like Awakenings, which will probably end Hawke's story in some unfinished way. He might be mentioned a few times in DA3, but thats about it. I think the ending of DA2 makes it sound more exciting than it will be. Both the Warden and Hawke will probably be dead in a ditch somewhere, perhaps by Flemeth.

Hawke's story isn't over but I don't see it concluding through DLC. It will more than likely end through a new game.

the whole game is based around the cliff hanger at the end and it's pretty clear that Hawke's story is far from over just like the Wardens. Alistair didn't come to Kirkwall by chance. My guess it's a clue regarding DA3 just like Flemeth at the beginning and I wouldn't be surprised if both the Warden and Hawke play the leading roles in the next game. The second is sorta based of the first one in regards to the Blight which allows us to assume that the third one will incorporate both DA:O and DA2. Alas, however, we wont know until Bioware starts telling us what could happen in the next game. Only time will tell.

I hope it's over. Think he was terrtible and I won't buy DA3 if Hawke is the PC. I hope BW won't give you closure on this punk, he's just a tool and nothing more..

Not by a long shot. I see Dragon Age 2 as a prologue of sorts, the legend of Hawke and how it began. Though time will tell whether Bioware wishes to continue the story of Hawke and his companions.

Well we were told it was a 10 year timeline.. Dragon Age 2 took place over 6 years, so we should hopefully get the other 4... That and the "ending" certainly didn't feel like an ending at all, for the game or my hawke.. So yeah Hopefully we get some dlcs / exspansions to help wrap up Hawkes story

The game did cover 10 years.

0 - Prologue, arrival in Kirkwall.
1 - Act 1, after a year working for Meeran or Athenril.
4 - Act 2, 3 years after the Deep Roads Expedition
7 - Act 3, 3 years after the Qunari attack.
10 - Epilogue, Varric and Cassandra's conversation, 3 years after the events in Act 3.

DLC will most likely cover events between year 7-10, because by year 10, Hawke's companions have split (minus Merrill, of course ;-)) and he's 'gone.'

Hawke is a potential character for DA3, either as the protagonist or an NPC, but it's equally likely he will be left out (either until DA4 or his story is over).  Since the Warden is potentially dead (if you did the ultimate sacrifice ending), he is unlikely to return in any role that can't either be filled by a generic Grey Warden character or left out of the story entirely (i.e. bonus character like Sebastian).

Personally, I hope Hawke and the Warden are companions in DA3. :-)  Hawke can easily be a companion, because even in DA2, some of his responses are automated based on what you tended to pick in the response wheel (i.e. if you do more reds, your Hawke tends to give direct/angry replies and if you do more purples they tend to be sarcastic).  The Warden would be... trickier.

It's also important to note that while the Warden can die during DA:O, Hawke survives the events of DA 2. What does that mean? Well, in a sense, it leaves a lot of room for the developers to continue using Hawke in the main Dragon Age story, whereas the Warden's story is truly finished if you committed the Ultimate Sacrifice.

In other words, Hawke has plot armor, which is good news for those that enjoyed DA 2 (myself included).

Honestly, the whole exchange between Cassandra and Varric seems to alude that Hawke's story is only just beginning.

No. Because Hawke, unlike the Warden, did not get a nice detailed epilogue. Like discussing where the characters went, or what happened with Hawke and his love. I think at least there will be some DLC or mentions in further games.

Well if you watch the destiny trailer, then play the game, then watch the destiny trailer again, you will find that Hawke's story is a bit disappointing. Like s/he isn't the 'champion' yet that s/he is supposed to be. I was one of those most disappointed that I could not play my Warden in DA2. But now that I started to like Hawke I would never forgive Bioware to give up on Hawke like this. If they give up on Hawke I probably give up on Dragon Age.
