No, DLC and expansion plz. ;)

Actually, I would like a different protagonist for DA3. Preferably a dwarf or elf.

no, at least i hope it's not mainly because there is just so much to explore after the rise to power.

I thought it was pretty obvious that DA2 was an introduction to the new Shepard of Dragon Age.

Yes.

At least as the player character.

This. To the fourth power.

Except for DLC and Dragon Age ][: Starkhaven expansion.

No. At least I hope not! DA2 felt more like a beginning than an ending. I hope we get a giant expansion, at the very least.

I would be fine with Hawke being an NPC, their gender and appearance though of course imported from DA2.

Please let it be over.

I want a new Character.

Hawke just...completely lacks the charisma the Warden had.

If the Warden were voiced, maybe. I felt that there were a good deal of hilarious dialogue options in DA:O, whereas most of the "funny" choices in DA 2 were simply flippant. That said, DA 2 is a better package overall as far as I'm concerned, at least gameplay wise.

And I can't see how Hawke's story could possibly be over. It seemed to me to set up some sort of tag team deal with the Warden from DA:O.

Actually the entire approach to the ending is very KOTOR-esque. "Oh yes, that majestic hero? The one who's a total badass? Oh yeah, he immediately left and never came back for reasons that will forever remain a mystery LOL."

At least we got some sort of denoument. Bioware really needs to work on their endings though. The final fight with Meridith was epic, but then we switch to the storybook and Varric just quietly sitting there? The end?

ME 2 had the same anticlimactic ending. Just a little minute long cutscene of not much happening, then the credits roll. Oh really Varric? Circumstances separated every single one of you from the Champion? What happened then? Guess we'll never know.

I was expecting an ending remeniscent of Splinter Cell: Conviction, where Hawke just busts in and rescues Varric without a second thought. Or Varric to just man up and break his way out of there, tired of being pushed around by these templar louts.

It certainly would have been better than the shadowy whispering that plays out one of the best RPGs of this generation.

No, but please don't make him the protagonist of DA3. Some DLC and expansions would be nice, but that's all.

Seeing as DA 2's ending just...kinda happened. I assume Bioware is going to continue Hawke's story.

They will bring him back in an expansion and mini-expansion DLC but I highly doubt he or the warden show up in DA3 if there is one.

Agreed with this. I wouldn't mind playing Hawke or The Warden in DA3, but I personally think it would be better if Bioware introduced a new protagonist.

No I don't think Hawkes story is done just yet, the ending just left too many unanswered questions

I know a lot of people will hate this but please Bioware give us Hawke back for DA3! I have grown too fond of him...

If not DA3 than at least an expansion after the disappearance...

And it does seem like his story is far from over. While the Warden had some kind of closure.

I say that Hawke will meet up with the Warden and the OGB and they will all team up and take on the universe. Or I could be wrong..?

I, for one, hope we're building towards the formation of the Avengers, Thedas-style. B)

That would be AWESOME.  Image IPB

As a central player or protagonist? Yes I feel it's over, barring possible DLCs / expansions.

There is the (slight) possibility of a multiple protagonist DA3. But I think it's more likely we'll get a new protagonist. Hawke's rise to power story is over (shortest fall after hyped rise of power ever).

As for the question...I agree with most everyone that an expansion and some DLC will conclude his story.

I kind of dig the idea that you play as someone new every game. But I do want to see the DA characters coming and going throughout. We still don't know what the deal with Flemeth is..,,we have Zevran taking over the Crows....Alistair is King (well, in most of my playthroughs)...Morrigan has a super child and is living somewhere with the ancent elves learning something...Leliana is the right hand to Divine ruler of the Chantry (killing in the name of the Maker). Oghren is a Grey Warden. And now we have Merrill, Anders, Aveline, Sebastian and Varric going in unknown directions. (I killed Fenris...) I do miss Shale...Wynne is probably dead by now...but we already have a universe full of wonderful, fleshed out characters, and my point is that they should remain in the story. Hawke and the Warden are just two more characters to run into, the cool part being you basically had a hand in creating them.

(I do have a theory that Flemeth has killed both Hawke and the Warden, but I hope I'm wrong.)

Well considering how unfinished they have left the Warden so far, I wouldn't be surprised if Hawke is finished off with DLC or an expansion like Awakenings. We may hear of him DA3, but I don't think he will be that important.

It will probably be a new character in DA3, though I don't actually like the idea of another protagonist.

I have to agree would be nice to see something through till the end with one hero.  This game was not the end, all it showed me was being a "good" character meant **** in the end.

Dunno if anyone else here as read "Twenty-five years later" the continuation of the "Three Muskateers" but the dispersal of former companions reminds me of that... They have all risen to power in different spheres religion, politics, delinquency  but remain friends and allies and then get together again for one last hurrah...:wizard:

Viscount Hawke just vanishing after a couple of years would be a pretty lame ending.

My mage supporter Hawke's story can end there, though. It would be a bit of a downer ending, but she's pretty pissed at the world and wouldn't mind disappearing, as long as Merrill came along with her..

No, the story is far from over. Didn't you notice? Hawke went *missing*. The whole game is about telling his past, hoping to find some indication on his whereabouts.

Interresting enough, the Hero of Ferelden went missing too!
I wonder if that's more than just coïncidence.
I wonder if there are going to be 1 or 2 more Dragon Age games (full games, like DA:O and DA2, not expansions) where heroes end up missing.
I wonder if there's going to be some game where we will need them all, where they maybe need one another and cooperate.

Do I feel it should be over? Yes.
Do I think it's over? No.

Sadly, I think they're going to milk it and try to make Hawke the new Shepard. I'm only more convinced of this because of the lack of options with customization and game endings. When I found out the ending is basically the same no matter what my first thought was, "Oh, that should make it easy for the sequel..."

I wish Hawke could just settle down somewhere and have a life. Heroes can have lives when they're done defeating evil and saving the world, they don't have to mysteriously disappear into nowhere or keep fighting until they die...

My Hawke needs a break from drama and angst and having the world on her shoulders. Preferably about thirty-to-forty years.

This, by the end of DA2 my Hawke and Isabela were makeing plans to sail away from Kirkwall on her new boat, which is something I wanted to make him do a fair way into Act 3 when both Templars and Mages were at each others throats and going nuts.

But somehow I'm guessing if there is an expansion pack for DA2 something akin to DAA is going to happen, and all of Hawke's friends are going to be busy elsewhere (like Isabela on her ship) and Hawke is going to be caught up in someone elses business and I'm sitting there wishing he could not get stuck in someone else's argument for five minutes and head for the horizon a'la Captain Jack Sparrow (......hmmmmm a name change might be in order, Captain Jack Hawke Image IPB)
