Well, it depends how much you read into what was said about the warden and hawke. They have been looking for both. It *could* mean multiple protagonists in DA3 or more likely, not. lol I don't have much faith in continuity when the story changes so often. The dead rise, evil-doers fly.... who knows what they will come up with next?!

I have taken myself out of a logical thinking state for what they want to do with DA3 because after the 360 from DAO to DA2, really, what they do with even what we consider to be truth is anyone's guess. Which, I think, today anyway, was the whole Varric thing. He was a story-teller. A fabricator of the obvious truth into something greater than the sum of its parts. Even when you killed wee little dragonlings he would shout " When I tell this story I will make them 3 times bigger!"

As far as we know, Hawke and team just hung around drunk in a bar, Varric was the voice of a mastermind and concocted this whole story to get the chantry going. :)

Who knows!

If they could tie it all together though, should be interesting. You can tell they already have the story worked out. We just have to wait and see how it plays out. :)

No. At least I hope not! DA2 felt more like a beginning than an ending. I hope we get a giant expansion, at the very least.

I'm kinda hoping thats the case.. the ending of DA2 has been left wide open to speculation and I would hate to think thats the end of it and move onto yet another character.

I would much prefer continuing with my Hawke than my warden to be honest especially as you've just mentioned this is the beginning and not an end Image IPB

Hawke should team up with the Warden to do some cleanup in DA 3. Throw in Leliana, Merrill and Varric and I'm sold.

No, but I don't want to play as him or the Warden again. They are missing.

Bring on the Seeker. He'll find them!

No, I don't think Hawke's story is over.

I'd like to see his story with Merrill continue. Two blood mages trying to survive in a world that fears and hates them...

I think Hawke has, at least, an expansion left in him/her.

That facial expression just about sums up my feelings on the matter, too.

Bioware has said all along that while ME was envisioned as a trilogy from the start, DA was a universe in which they could tell stories rather than one story. I would be surprised if DA3 is about Hawke or the Warden (there will be DLC).

DA3 (if made) will probably be about a new protaganist that has some affect on the evolution of the magi revolution and some interaction with Flemeth and Sandal.

What I am really interested in is what Flemeth is trying to accomplish.

I love Hawke and I'm hoping his story isn't over. I would be really surprised if it was, considering it feels like it's just starting as the DA2 ends. My fingers are crossed that he's the protagonist in DA3 and the setting is Orlais. :)

I thought the Fan Favorite was a given, really.

...

Wait a second! Where's Oghren in DA2?!

This is an outrage!

I get the sense in Mass Effect your following Shepards story as he/she is the main protagonist whereas I'm getting the feeling that DA is gonna throw us new main characters with every release even though I feel the Wardens story hasn't finished when he/she last met Morrigan.

I don't know to be honest, though I wish it wasn't over. I would love to see Hawke in DA3, like Shepard, but I'm not counting on it. This Bio team hasn't been very consistent with characters.
And no, I don't Want Warden to be back (unlike majority), that story is over. Besides Warden has been railroaded to fight darkspawn, everything else is none of their business. Hawke is much more free and fleshed out. Their place in history has not been established yet.

The overall plot of DA2 feels like setup for the next game, so I'll be pretty surprised if we don't see Hawke again. The ending is a cliffhanger (and in a completely different way to the ending of DAO being left open) and I feel like the conflict started in DA2 is too big for DLC to take care of. It certainly seems plausible plot-wise to continue with Hawke's story.

I very much doubt we'll be playing the Warden again. Sure, the Warden's story isn't 'over' in the sense that (ultimate sacrifice aside) we've seen them die and I'm sure the Warden will go on having adventures, but the Warden's conflict was the darkspawn and that's taken care of now. Not to mention the sheer amount of resources necessary to have the Warden return as a playable character makes it very, very unlikely (you'd need six VAs to have a voiced Warden - male and female for each of the three races now that they've each been given distinct accents, and of course people would complain if they couldn't have their Warden's LI with them). So while I understand people being attached to their Warden and wishing they could play as them again, Hawke would be much easier to put into the next game.

On a personal level I like Hawke, and I'd be happy to have the opportunity to play through Hawke's continuing adventures.

I dont think he'll have another game, I felt like the way the cliffhanger ending came about was a sneaky way for E.A to sell a big dlc expansion like awakening.

The impression I've got from Bioware interviews is that they prefer to tell a different characters story within a consistent world, if you look up the 1up feature Dragon Age 2 Afterthoughts I got sense the next game will be set in Orlais.

No. When characters disappear, their story isn't over. Neither the Warden's nor Hawke's story is over, whether they rejoin it or not.
