LOL, yes, that letter is in the game. But there's no way to open any accounts or to contact the sender in any way. It's just a joke based on the old Nigerian prince email phishing scam.

That's one of the messages you get after moving into the Hawke Estate. You receive a similar message in ME2 i think.

I deliberately didn't 'Read' that letter just to avoid acknowledging it. In case something horrible really did happen to Hawke's coffers, you dig? (Paranoid? Moi?
)

I read it and lost no money. It's just a joke--medieval phishing.

Letter is real, rest of it is fake. You can't do anything with it.

Make sure you reply and let them know that mother is into poisons and cakes. Don't forget to mention the upcoming bake sale!!

They were kidnapped. You need to send them 100 more so they can escape.

just got and confirmed this. saw it..didn't read...backed out and saved.
then hit accept and I lost 100g..reloaded to avoid losing it.
so yah don't hit "read" if you don't want to lose 100g's

Hmm, I read it in all 3 of my playthroughs but I don't recall losing any money. I figured it was just the same spam mail that you get in ME2.

The "male enhancement" letter was pretty funny too, though I don't think it's possible to respond to any letters you read in-game.

Is Bioware aware of this issue? How many more people will have lost their hard-earned sovereigns before this gets fixed?
in the meantime its important not to open any of those letters
