Bioware fans can be so melodramatic sometimes.

in a way i feel that mass effect fans demand wayyy to much from bioware. yes i know back then bioware said theyll listen to fans but i must admit ( as a fan) i do see alot of people get to be pretty prickish torwards the devs. im not saying im innocent myself in the debate but most or half of these fans end up blood thirsty wich imo isnt cool

HA! you haven't been to the DA2 forums have you?

Edit: It's good to get clarification about this trailer business one way or the other, as opposed to just letting the day slip by and... nothing.

Judging from the last podcast another praising of the "ÜBER COOL" comic could have a bad effect on my health so I rather pass on this one...

I'm going to skip the part of the live chat where they talk about comics.

You don't think any of the rest of the chat will be anything but back-patting, do you?

It doesn't matter as long as it's not all about the uber-mighty-awesome comics.

Of course not. All the questions will be written and pre-selected to advertise how awesome the comics and games are, complete with buzz words and marketing slogans. If we're lucky, "emotionally engaging" might make its triumphant return!

Don't forget "cinematic experience" and "compelling characters"! :P

Are you also going to ask him why ME 2 was written so much worse than ME 1 and LotSB, and whether it is planned to increase the quality of the writing for ME 3?

Well said Chris. I am sure the DLC will be great, no doubt about it. Bioware has done a fantastic job of creating an immersive story that evolves differently for all of us players. To bad mouth them really makes the speaker look like a fool.

Bioware does indeed have the worse marketing team ever. There is no point for the trailer, a trailer is meant to get people ready for something.

I love how people who don't know how to do my job tell me how to do my job. A trailer IS meant to get you ready to do something. It is to get you ready to buy the product. Whether it comes out today or next week, it accomplishes the same thing.

An advance trailer for everyone posting in this thread is not needed. You all know about Arrival and, as long as you believe it has value and fun for your dollar, you will likely buy it. And to play Devil's Advocate a moment, if you don't like what you see in the trailer or don't see the fun/value, giving it to you today or next week makes no difference.

A trailer released on the day it is available showing how cool it is saying "now available" will drive people who do not frequent these forums or the Mass Effect website to buy it immediately (yes, because it is cool and an excellent DLC that we feel peopel will want to play).

People here are upset because you think someone promised you a trailer today (which we never did) or because you have to wait 7 days. I get that waiting sucks, but thats the way it is. I get you are disappointed, but some of the blame goes to all of you who got your hopes up.

That said, we do have some cool stuff coming between now and next Tuesday, like the live chat we're going to have with Mac Walters talking about Arrival, comic books, other cool Mass Effect discussion. Details of the chat to be sent out soon.

Stay Tuned. :)

Again, thanks for at least responding, it's cool to let us know what's up. Looking forward to the chat, etc.

Seeing as these things tend to happen on tuesdays and thursdays I am still holding out hope for a trailer before the weekend.

It would be hilarious if they released the trailer at 11:59pm today after all this. Unfortunately the nature of time zones screws with that theory.

Geez, it's a nice day and I'm walking through the park, and the same 5 or 6 of you are constantly like the dog piles I have to always steer clear of, but can still smell. How do you go through life with such negativity?

Chris, you explained everything perfectly.
This is a non-issue.

So I guess there won't be a Trailer until the day Arrival comes out?

If thats the case, then there is no reason for me to watch the trailer. I might as well just jump into the DLC and enjoy the experience that way.

So on a positive note, by not having the trailer released today or before the release date, means that I won't be spoiled with certain plot details. I will be able to experience them first hand while playing the DLC, not by watching the trailer. I say this because Bioware is notoriously known to feature many plot spoilers in their trailers. Hence, look at my sig....

So I take not having a trailer now as a good thing.

Be fair. The large majority of posters on the ME boards don't whine. Sure, we get a little over-excited but I don't see very many people upset about anything.

It's kind of like driving on busy roads. Over 95% of the drivers on the road are decent but that 5% can make you think everyone else is an idiot.

Cool! Thanks for responding, Chris.

I don't really agree with your reasoning for releasing a trailer on Day 0, but I'll wait to reserve judgement. The quiet (and very late) reveal for the Pinnacle Station DLC was partly what made me avoid buying it. I didn't find out about it until a few days AFTER the release date, but by then there were enough negative user reviews to convince me not to buy it (same thing with all my gamer friends). I believe keeping potential buyers up-to-date on your product is the most effective marketing strategy, but maybe I just don't know enough about the games industry. To be fair, from an outside perspective, your marketing strategy doesn't make much sense.

Still hyped! Bring on the live chat. :D
