I use Toolset 1.0, but at first I encountered the headless problem even with Toolset 1.01 (so I switched to the older version, even though it evidently won't solve the problem...)
I also admit that I'm complete newbie to this game editing via Toolset and I tried to work according to advices on some other discussions here, but still this is the only result I got, so might it be that there is some more setting needed in the overriding file, than just the visual edit of the face?

Dragon Age Origins Change Character Appearance 2010
It's possible! 2010-02-21 (Backup your game first by making a copy of the Bioware folder in My Documents)
So you made your character, but there's something you don't like about it. Use these steps to remake your character from scratch.
Download and install the toolset http://dragonage.bioware.com/toolset
Open Dragon Age Origins.
Load the save game you last played of the character you want to change the face / appearance of. Make a new save, name it "changeface", then exit the game.
Make a new character of the same race and sex as the character in the "changeface" game. Make the name be "MyFace". Pick out the new way you want it to look.
Tip: If you want to use the face of a character you already have to put on a different character, you can do that too, just follow the steps below about changing the game files and skip the steps about creating a new face.
Tip: You can download extra hair colors http://www.google.co... Vibrant Colors and http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=555
Tip: Take screenshots of the sliders when creating the character, this will help you tweak it further if you don't like the appearance of your new creation.
Start the game of the new character. Check to see if you like the face.
Tip: You can run up to a solid object, then move the "camera" to be right in front of your face (between you and the wall) and it will zoom in close on your characters face.
If you don't like the face, delete the character, and start again (work off the screenshots of the sliders to get that tweak just the way you want it).
Once you like the face, save the game as "newface" then exit the game.
If you have a slow computer, you may need to Quit the Dragon Age game so the computer doesn't run out of memory when loading the game files from the toolset.
Open the toolset (Start>All Programs>Dragon Age Origins>Dragon Age Toolset)
We will first open the save game "newface" and copy the part of the file that has the appearance (called "MORPH" in the file), then we'll delete that out of "changeface" and paste it into the same place.
File>Open File = My Documents\\Bioware\\DragonAge\\Characters\\Myface\\Saves\\Slot_1\\newface.das
Click the little plus ( + ) signs to expand them on these items:
+SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
++SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
Scroll down to find a line called: SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH
Right click SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH and choose "Copy". We are "copying" the face from this saved game.
Tip: If your computer is slow, do File>Close before opening the second saved game.
Now we open our other character so we can "paste the face" into it.
File>Open File = My Documents\\Bioware\\DragonAge\\Characters\\\\Saves\\\\changeface.das
Click the little plus ( + ) signs on:
-SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR
--SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR
Find the line that says SAVEGAME_PLAYER_MORPH right click it and choose "Delete". (slower computers will *choke* for a moment)
Scroll back up to the line SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR right click it and choose "Paste". (again, on a slower computer it will look like it's crashing, give it a moment)
File > Save
File > Close
File > Exit
Open Dragon Age Origins. Load the "changeface" save. You should now see the face you've created. Run around for a little bit, maybe move to a new zone or two, try going into combat, if everything looks good, save it as "twitterimkilo".
Now just play the game as normal, and enjoy the face you always wanted!

Shouldn't be. Did you put the export to true and then right click the character and post to local?

I don't want to create new face, I just want to edit something.
like change hair style or eye color.

i've had this before, so first i thought it was simply the singleplayer file in documents-bioware-dragonage-modules. so i deleted that.
but now the menu is still gone. anybody knows what i should do?
edit: i found out what was wrong, there was a tlk file in my override-toolsetexport. when i deleted it everything got back to normal.

Yeah that was the problem. I just assumed once I made the change to true it would stay that way rather than having to do so each time with a new one. thanks for the help

That's definitely not normal...
As a workaround you could download these. The basic heads are in "Character Creation" and end in "_B01.mrh", you could open one, save it as something else and use it to work on your own morphs.
Thanks for the work around! Figures that I'd end up with something weird. I think my system just isn't wanting to play nice with the Toolset for reasons unknown. I've even reinstalled Dragon Age, Awakenings, and the Toolset but nothing changed.

Trying to convert a .mor to .mop and when I click on tools/export... I've got these choices-
empty export directories
generate module xml
generate manifest xml
export talk table
export foreign talk table
these dont look right, for exporting a .mop file. Is this really one of the options I should be using, or am I doing something wrong here. If those are the options, which one is it?
Also, if I need to set that to export as mop in object inspector.... I do not see anything labled Object Inspector. Where is it please?

Okay, so open the toolset, load up the morph you're trying to export, then:
look at the right half of the screen, then look half-way down carefully. Y'know that box that houses all those tabs you've been using to tweak the face? That's the object inspector (says so right on top of it). The tabs go '07. Cheeks, 08.Jaw', etc.
You want 14. Export Settings - Change the False to True and you're set.
I wasn't being a smartass or talking-down to you, I was just trying to be as simple and clear as possible, because it took me a while to figure out what they were talking about too.

The one you want is actually "post to local".
also what poster above said.

This is a bit off topic, so I hope no one minds, but I tried to do something as simple as create a new room. I hit the exact same problem as I did with my head morphs. There should have been a big list of textures for me to apply to the floor. I got the correct screen but the list didn't exist.
Does anyone know what the system requirements are for DA Toolset? I checked around where you download from Bioware and the web but never found anything. I'm guessing they assume if you can run the game you ran run the Toolset, but I've noticed the Toolset is SLOOOOOW for me. DA is the first new game I've ever played, and when I bought the PC a couple of years ago the biggest thing I played was NWN 1. I know I'm way behind... LOL I'm wondering if the PC just doesn't have good enough specs to properly load these things and if I should be looking at an upgrade.
Edit: I'm such a doof. I updated my vid card drivers and the textures were where they were supposed to be. Still no head morphs but ... yeah... I'm an idiot today.

Makes sense now.
Thanks very much folks. I am sure the guy that I'm converting this for, is very appreciative as well.
TypoWolf- the pic helped considerably, thanks!
PilotJoe- no worries, I'm a computer hardware tech. I'm used to having to "dumb-down" when talking to customers, so I'm completely used to it ;-)
Besides, when it comes to the toolset, I AM one of these 1d10T customers that has little or no idea what the person is saying, lol ;-)
Loc_N_Lol- thanks for the reminder, I probly would have forgot about that :-)
TypoWolf- there's parts of it that just don't want to work right, no matter how good of a system you have. Such as shooting up to 3.36+ gigs worth of memory usage just to open a savegame file. Yeah, I know some of those files are big, but STILL!
(yeah, I've seen the workaround. My system only has 2 gigs of ram on vista, so I havent tried it.)
Thanks again everybody, really appreciate the help!

Its a .mor file that the guy had me download from over at dragonagenexus to convert for him since toolset won't work on his system. I opened up toolset. then did file/open. browsed to the file location, and double clicked on it. Thats the only file that was in zip folder it was packed in.
Should he request the .mrh file from the author? He wants to use this as a preset.

Right in there with you! These other people who are far, far more knowledgable than I am may know to go from .mor to .mop I'm curious about that, myself.
If worse comes to worse the .mhr files have all worked for me. I've exported to a .mop or a .mor file without any problems, so long as I had that setting correct as described above.

Good to know it's not just me.
